After 24 hours non stop, Mount Carmel Secondary School have completed their first ever Readathon!

Beginning at 9am Friday to 9am Saturday, staff & students completed reading and/or reading activities such as bingo, movie with subtitles, massive table quiz, mini reading challenges, Karaoke and much more!!

Thank you to Ms Fitzgerald, Mr Green, Siobhain & Jenny from the Literacy DEIS team for organising. Thank you also to Ms Donoghue, Ms Healy, Ms Judge, Ms Traynor & Ms Curran (who started her 3rd book at 3am) for sleeping over also.

I am very proud of the 22 students who raised money for Pieta House & the Lourdes Fund! They were a credit to their families. I also was to thank two students from LCA 1 Michael & Kelsey who called in for a cuppa last night for an hour, as did Ms Collins with her two wonderful little readers!

Between pizza, treats and sausage sambos this morning, the students & Staff deserve a well earned rest today!

Thank you all

Some of our TY students spend last week on work placement, with the Department of Taoiseach and Tanaiste, at Government offices. The students really enjoyed the experience and got a valuable insight into 'behind the scenes' workings, of both the Taoiseach and Tanaiste's departments. A big thank you to Carol Kearney from the Taoiseach's Office and to Olive Ojo from NEIC, for organising the placements. @NEIC_Dublin
