Our Open Evening will take place this Thursday October 10th from 6-9pm. 6th class primary girls and their parents/guardians are invited to attend and participate in activities and meet staff and students engaged in a wide variety of subjects, such as Art, Home Economics, Science, Technology etc. We look forward to welcoming you all on the night.

The Parents' Council Christmas Draw is on this coming Monday evening at 7pm. 1st prize is €500, 2nd prize is €300 & 3rd prize is €200. There are also four sellers prizes of €50 each. Please return all raffle cards and money to your tutor on Monday morning. If you're not in you can't win!

Students and teachers now have the opportunity to purchase stationery at low prices each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at lunchtime. All 2nd year Business Studies students are involved in the running of this store and their motto is 'Swift Thinking, Smart Spending.'

As part of Culture Night in Dublin, on 20th of September, Poetry of Ireland and Trócaire launched their first anthology called Future Perfect. It is a collection of Fifty award - winning poems selected from entries to the Trócaire and Poetry Ireland poetry competitions 2012-2019. One of those winning entries was our 1st year Keila Cagney with her poem 'Windows'. This is a fantastic achievement by Keila, and maybe the genesis of a poet for the future!

Come celebrate Culture Night 2019 and get to see a large selection of SCR students Junk Kouture creations being modelled and exhibited in the Dunamaise Art Centre Portlaoise at 6pm until 7pm Friday night 20th of Sept. 2019. Thank you so much to the wonderful people from Downtown Portlaoise and all the businesses and companies in Portlaoise who helped organise and supported our JK exhibition over the past few weeks and a huge thank you to all the talented Scoil Chriost Rí Junk Kouture student fashion creators both past and present for your determination, time, commitment and originality! It's a time to celebrate your wonderful creations, team spirit and outstanding Junk kouture achievements over the years! Enjoy "creative" culture night!
6th Year Trip to Higher Options

On Wednesday our 6th years headed off to Dublin to the Irish Times Higher Options expo. There they met with representatives from Universities, Colleges and Educational Institutions in Ireland, the UK, Europe and beyond. The girls came away with plenty of information to think about as they set about making decisions for life after the leaving certificate.

Leaving Certificate Options Evening will take place next Monday 18th from 18.30. Presentations on Transition Year and LCA will be at 18.30, while a presentation on Senior Cycle Options will take place at 19.30.
