P4 in Sallypark Nursing Home Ballycullen, singing Christmas songs and chatting with the residents! The other 4th year groups visited Orwell Nursing Home in Rathgar and Glencarrig Nursing Home in Firhouse as part of a TY Religion module.

Last week the 5th year Art class went to The National Gallery with Ms. Maguire to see the Kathe Kollwitz print exhibition, then on to The National Museum in the afternoon to see the Bronze and Iron age artefacts.
Gifts to the Crib

Well done to everyone for the superb effort made with the Gifts to the Crib today. The gifts will be passed on to St. Vincent de Paul and local charities to help families in need this Christmas. Thank you to the P2s who organised a very special ceremony to highlight the importance of kindness and thinking of others, especially now as we approach Christmas. Anyone who forgot their gift today can still bring it in tomorrow morning.

1st Year
120 1st year students showed their scientific knowledge in the third SciFest@OLS on Tuesday. We would like to congratulate all the girls that entered who should be very proud of themselves for doing such an excellent job at impressing all the judges. The following prizes were presented: Best Communicators: Leah Barry (B1), Ellie Kearns (B1), Emer Kirby (B1) Best Poster: Molly Gorby (L1) , Abbey Kelly (L1), Eimear Joyce (L1) There were four highly commended prizes which went to: Claire Little (P1) Mary Byrne (P1) Abbie Moules (P1) Carly Smith (L1) Erin Murray (L1) Sophia Noble (L1) Caitlin Evoy (P1) Sarah Moore (P1) Ciara Dillon (P1) and Robyn Jager (L1) Katelyn Maher (L1) The runners up prizes went to: Holly Cassidy (B1), Hannah Murphy (B1) and Aimee O’Doherty (B1) With 1st prize going to Eva Hassett (B1), Maura O’Riordan (B1) and Roisin Brazil (B1) for their project “How much iron is in your cereal?” The girls will go on to represent the school at the regional final at Tallaght IT in May. This week's poem is an extract from 'Buried Light' by Beau Taplin, and is dedicated to Ms. Kelly who requested something short and sweet :) Home is not where you are from it is where you belong. Some of us travel the whole world to find it. Others find it in a person.
After School Study

L2 Trip to EPIC Museum

Back in October, L2 were the winners of Best Class Photo on 'Hats Off to Reading Day' during our Reading Week. Their prize was a class trip to Epic Museum. See the photos below in the gallery. The other winners of the Reading Week competitions were- Hannah Fowler B2, overall winner of the Bookmark competition, her prize is to have her bookmark professionally printed. Ana Cooke and Emily Jones in TY were joint winners of most Innovative Hat, they won a voucher for Dundrum Town Centre. Grainne Butler in TY was the winner of best poster and also won a voucher.
