Today is Digital Detox Day. The focus for today is to switch off from all types of technology and to talk face to face to friends and family. Earlier on this morning all year groups participated in a 'Mindful 10 at 10:00am'. Some classes went for a mindful walk using the Slí na Sláinte route around the perimeter of the school. Other classes participated in a 10 minute classroom-based mindfulness activity. Mindfulness has many benefits; it improves our mental and physical health and our well-being and should be incorporated into our daily lives. Lunchtime was action packed with activities. The Basketball Challenge took place in the Sports Hall., we had traditional games and Ceol agus Craic in the GPA, Mindful colouring and origami in the library, and in the Home Economics kitchen celebrity chef Louise Lennox did a cooking demonstration. Students who participated in lunchtime activities were given stickers and those who collected 4 will get a free breakfast tomorrow morning in st. Joseph's Hall sponsored by the Parent's Council.

The TYs participated in a Jigsaw workshop on mental health and we sang our hearts out to 'The Greatest Showman' at lunchtime. There were extra healthy lunch options in the school canteen and the Home Economics dept shared nutrition information with the whole school through a display in the GPA. Tomorrow is Digital Detox Day and all year groups will participate in a Mindful 10 at 10:00 activity.
