Invitation to Incoming First Years
Created : 20 Aug 2020, 4:36 PM
Archived : 20 Oct 2020, 12:00 AM
On Wednesday next, 26th September, we would like to invite our incoming 1st Years to visit the school for a short tour in advance of their official return. The students will be greeted by a member of the 6th Year leadership team who will take them on a short, socially distant tour around the campus so that they can have an opportunity to become that little bit more familiar with OLS and perhaps ask a few questions about their transition to secondary school. In order to ensure a safe environment we are scheduling the students' visit and we would ask that this is strictly observed (please see below). The tour will be for 30 minutes in total. Students must wear a face mask/covering, hand sanitise at the appropriate entrance, observe respiratory etiquette and ensure they socially distance. No uniforms are required. We encourage our students to begin the year with good habits. We would ask that, as best they can, they walk to the school and enter via the new gateway. Where this is not possible parents can drop their daughter off at the outer carpark and continue on towards the exit. Parents will not be permitted to leave their cars under any circumstance and can be assured the girls will be well looked after for their short visit! We very much look forward to seeing our new 1st Years on Wednesday! 12:00 - 12:30 Students with surnames beginning with A-B 12:20 - 12:50 Students with surnames beginning with C-E 12:40 -13:10 Students with surnames beginning with F-L 13:00 - 13:30 Students with surnames beginning with M-O 13:20 - 13:50 Students with surnames beginning with P-Z

Dear Parents, The Government released its Roadmap last night for the full reopening of schools this August. We are delighted that we will be welcoming our students and staff back to the school building on a full time basis. We now have a plan that we can implement to ensure the health and safety of all of our community whilst continuing with teaching and learning. There are many logistical problems to be resolved to create the new normal in OLS and we will work as hard as possible to ensure the best solution for all. We will be in touch with you in due course to update you on the many changes that must be implemented. I appreciate your flexibility and ongoing support as we manage together these important changes. I wish you and your families a safe and restful August. M Gorby Principal

Calculated Grades for LC and LCA

Archived : 23 Sep 2020, 12:00 AM
A reminder to all 6th Years (Leaving Cert and Leaving Cert Applied students) that they MUST log in to the LC portal to opt in for calculated grades. Click on ‘Log In’ at lc2020.education.gov.ie/ See a simple explanation in the screen shot attached with this notification. You already registered and confirmed your levels in June but this step is essential to confirm you want to receive a set of calculated grades. As explained in the FAQs (lc2020.education.gov.ie/CGSP_Before%20You%20Start%20Guide_Phase%202.pdf) you can still opt to sit the exams later if you wish but you need to opt in for the calculated grades now. The deadline is Monday but we advise you to get it sorted today in case you have any difficulty. Check in with your classmates to make sure they are sorted too.
