Active Home Week @OLS
Created : 27 Apr 2020, 9:28 AM
Archived : 27 Jun 2020, 12:00 AM
This is Active HOME Week nationwide. The challenge, set by Active School Flags, is to find four different ways of being active every day, making sure that this adds up to 60 minutes, or more, of physical activity in the day. All members of our OLS family are encouraged, #Together, to take on the challenge! Some more info is attached. Why not make break time a movement break and get 15 mins of an activity in? Use the tracker to note your activity and see your success building over the week! Use your PE Google Classroom for some activity ideas. activeschoolflag.ie/index.php/active-home-week-2020/#toggle-id-1

Happy Friday! Two items of interest: A snapshot of OLS Earth Day 2020 pledges: olschool.ie/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/OLS-Earth-Day-2020.pdf Today marks a national Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) challenge - the whole country is being invited to 'Drop Everything and Read'. The aim is to promote literacy and to spread the joy of reading for pleasure. You can find out more about the initiative here: jcsplibraries.com/2020/04/17/national-drop-everything-and-read-challenge-2020/ We are encouraging as many students and staff as possible to 'Drop Everything and Read' between 11.30 and 12 this Friday, April 24. If a teacher has scheduled an online class for this time, however, then the class takes priority. Perhaps those students could take some time later in the day to read! We encourage other family members to take part too, where possible!
