Junior Cycle Results

Congratulations to the current TYs who received their Junior Cycle exam results today. The results are excellent and while they don't reflect the full richness and breadth of learning across their Junior Cycle (this is reflected later on in the Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement which includes CBAs, Wellbeing and Other Areas of Learning), the results certainly highlight the tremendous work the students put in over the last 3 years across 10 subjects. We are so proud of our students for constantly striving to reach their potential. There was a great air of excitement and shared success this afternoon as students congratulated each other on their achievements. 13 students achieved 3 or more distinctions, including 1 student who achieved a phenomenal 10 distinctions!

Thank you to the teachers who worked hard to guide the girls towards achieving their best and to the parents and families who support their daughters every step of the way!

A reminder that TYs are expected in at 8.25am in the morning, in full school tracksuit, ready for action!

Another busy week at OLS!

Well done to the 6th Year Geographers who battled the elements on Wednesday to complete their field investigation at Powerscourt!

We welcomed our 1st Year parents on Wednesday afternoon for an information session followed by a cuppa and the Parents' Council AGM.

Our Opening Year Mass is always a special occasion to bring the school community together for a few moments of quiet reflection and a pause in the busyness of school life. We celebrated this on Thursday in the Sports Hall with the M5s, Fr. Pat and Ms Keogh at the helm. It was a meaningful ceremony and the 5th Years really inspired us to reflect on their theme, 'The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their purpose.'

The 6th Years headed to the RDS today for the Higher Options & World Skills Conferences, while back at school, the Active School Flag class kept us highly entertained at lunchtime with a student & staff mixed team relay takeover event. Well done to all who took part and to the TYs for getting us going (and laughing!)!

Important Reminders:

Admissions: Remember that the window for applications for 1st Year 2025-26 opens next week: website

School closure: Monday Sept. 30th as per school calendar.

The 6th Year Parent-Teacher Meeting on Tuesday October 1st means a 3.15pm finish for the whole school.

Study Skills Week is next week. 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th Years will have their Study Skills Seminars on Tuesday and Thursday.
