Over half of 1st Yrs got vaccinated today. The remainder of students will be vaccinated next Friday 11th of December in school.

St Vincent De Paul Christmas Food Appeal

This year we will be collecting food items in each class for the St Vincent De Paul Christmas Food Appeal. Each class group will be asked to bring in one item of food to leave in the donation box in their classroom. All food will be delivered to SVP on Monday 14th of December. The final date to bring in items is Friday December 11th. Attached is a list for each class group. Any family that wish to donate extra or a luxury item may do and all will be gratefully accepted. Today the 4th year outdoor pursuits class practiced putting up tents and learning to use mini stoves. On such a cold afternoon , the hot sausage sandwiches were a great success

A reminder to all 1st Yr parents and students that the HPV Vaccinations will be taking place tomorrow. Students must wear in their sports gear including the short sleeve PE Top and bring a bottle of water with them. Vaccinations will be given in class groups in the sports hall during the school day.

Happy New Year Everyone. I hope that you have all had a wonderful, happy and safe Christmas break and are looking forward to returning to school work next week. In the meantime the very best of luck to Kate Fensom, Beth Thomas-Irwin & Aoife Ryan with their exhibits at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition - 'Can Secondary School students learn word translations whilst sleeping and if so, which sleep stage will maximise this?' and exhibit 2532 'The Science behind a Decision'. The BTYS Exhibition opened today and you are all invited to clink on and watch the Opening Ceremony on www.btyoungscientist.com and check out exhibits 2251 and 2532. All at LCF are so very proud of your efforts, hardwork and dedication. Well done and enjoy the experience.
6th Yr Parents - Parents Association

Hello from the Parents Association. Carol Dillon and Enda O’Connor are the 6th Yr PA reps in what is the girls final year in Loreto! We hope that all the girls have settled in well and are accustomed to their new way of school life. In any normal year we would by now have organised a social gathering of some sort. But as we know this is far from a normal year. In an effort to keep the parent/guardian group in touch with each other we would like to invite you to join in our School App Information Group. The School App has been greatly enhanced this year with the objective of becoming a One Stop Shop for all school information. The PA hope to use it to replace the traditional email based lists. It has the facility for specific groups of Parents/Guardians e.g. by year/class/team etc to communicate . As 6th year progresses it will be a useful tool for the PA to reach out to you and for any parent to ask a quick question or clarify something. As our year is not very large we intend to set up a whole of 6th year group. If you would like to be included please email carolmdillon9@gmail.com with your own name and your child's name. It would be nice to see as many Parents as possible join. And who knows with a bit of luck and a large slice of science we may even be inviting you to join us for a coffee in 2021!
