As school has begun again with online learning and a lot of extra screen time for students , it is so important for everyone to take regular breaks and to keep physically active. The PE department have a challenge for all their classes. The challenge for each class and year group will be to walk or run 7000 steps a day(4km) . This target reflects the WHO recommended daily 1hour moderate activity for adolescents. Can each student download the strava fitness app(its free) . Each year group will be in a strava club(use your sch email address). Full details will be available to students in PE class teams . We would appreciate if parents could help the younger students to set up the app on their phone. We would also like to encourage all family members to join in - put on the runners and head out!! Ps don’t forget the 10mins daily strength circuit ( maybe first thing in the morn?) Take care. Stay safe and looking forward to seeing you all back in school soon.

2nd Year Parents - Message from the PA

Dear all, A belated welcome back to term from the Parents’ Association. In normal circumstances we’d have met at social gatherings, at school events or even on the sidelines of the pitches, but unfortunately this year has been anything but normal. The Parents' Association has been meeting regularly as a group to hear from the Principal on school matters and to discuss what we can do to help next year. One piece of good news from the Parents' Association is that we have plans to support the school with the purchase of a range of items and equipment in 2021 – we’ll be in touch in the New Year with details on that. The School App has been greatly enhanced this year with the objective of becoming a One Stop Shop for all school information. We in the Parents’ Association aim to use it as our primary means of communication with all year groups – hence you’re getting this message rather than an email! We’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope that circumstances will allow the resumption of normal activities some time in 2021. All the best for now, Richard Mullins & Fionnuala O’Neill

Dear Parents/Guardians, On behalf of the Parents Association we would like to wish your families a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year! In any normal year we organise a few social gatherings, but 2020 has been far from a normal year. We hope 2021 will let us all meet again for a coffee or two! As you might know, the School App has been upgraded and offers lots of additional flexibility around updates and messages. It has the facility for specific groups of Parents/Guardians to stay in touch: stay up to date on latest news from the PA committee and also ask a quick question. If you would like to be included into a group for the 3rd Year please email your interest and consent to gleb@reys.net, we will need your name and your daughter’s name. Have a lovely Christmas and please do get in touch if you ever have a question or update for us. Thanks, Your 3rd Year Reps Gleb Reys (gleb@reys.net) and Robert Fubara (drfubara2000@yahoo.com)
