On Tuesday 25/10/22, our u16 basketball squad went up against Naas CC. We started off well and with a lead. The girls took some amazing shots and were defending so well. Kate Miller was getting all the rebounds and getting them out. The girls came off in the first quarter and the game was close. It was all to play for. The girls went back on and the Nass CC team had made a few changes to their team, but that did not matter to the Holy Family girls they kept up the magnificent workSadly, the girls started to drop behind and they started to lose hope. But at half time with a good team talk the girls went back on to the court with the determination to win. The girls caught back up with the opposition and were drawing on and off. It was nearing the end of the third quarter and there were a few fouls given from both teams. We then got to the last quarter, and it was close all the way to the very end. The girls were ahead by one, then the Naas CC girls had the ball and a time-out was called in the last twenty-two seconds they were called from the time out and the Naas CC girls got the last score of the game. The girls were gutted that they sadly lost so quickly after all the fighting. The end score was 30 –31. The girls then wished the Naas CC girls good look in their future matches. The girls are now out of the cup but will have more luck in the other matches to come.

On Wednesday 26/10/22, the u19 senior girls' basketball squad went up against St Kevins from Dunlavin at home, but sadly did not come out with the result they wanted and deserved. The match started and the two teams were both playing amazing. They were both putting in so much work to lead their teams to victory. The first quarter finished, and Holy Family were up by two points. The 2nd quarter was end to end action with a lot of baskets for both teamsHoly Family girls had sadly lost their lead and were behind by a bit. Going into the next quarter the girls were determined to come out of this match with a win, and we saw all the girls put in every ounce of energy that they had to finally get the score back to a draw. This quarter flew by quick, and we could see the girls were getting a bit tired, but they went into the last quarter with their heads up high and a positive mindset. We watched as the scores went up and up for both teams leaving supporters eager to see who would come out of this match with a win. In the last five minutes St Kevins started to gain more possession of the ball and took more shots at the holy family basket. The final whistle went, Holy Family girls had sadly lost 21 to 33. The girls took the loss well and congratulated St KevinsThe girls are now in the shield and hope to go far.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are currently in the process of assessing the educational impact the Covid 19 pandemic has had on our students. We are inviting all parents, students, and teachers to share their experience and any key areas of concern they feel is effecting academic progress. Equipped with that valuable insight, collected from as many stakeholders as possible, we can then begin to address key areas in need of attention and improvement. This is part of our School Self Evaluation process in HFSS.

Your input is extremely important. We would greatly appreciate it if you could take two minutes to complete the survey found at the below link. The survey will close on the 28th October so the data can be collated and analysed.

For the information we collect to best represent the needs of our students and direct us towards impactful action we welcome your engagement in this survey
