Third Year Retreat Day
The picturesque setting of The Solas Bhride Centre, just outside of Kildare Town, hosted our retreat day for third year students with Father Joe McGrath of the 'Throw Fire' retreat team. https://www.throwfire.ie/
Students greatly enjoyed this day of reflection on a fresh spring day in the midst of a busy exam year. Fabulous fun was had creating colourful wristbands, crafting intricate love hearts, writing sincere messages of hope and joyfully dancing as a collective year group. Interspersed with the fun was the opportunity to quietly reflect on their own life, purpose and the presence of God in all our lives. Needless to say there was something of value to be gained for all involved.
Bravo and God bless to all students/teachers/facilitators who attended to make it a profoundly positive day.
We are delighted to welcome 12 students from a Holy Family School in Málaga to our school this week. They are busy working on an Eramus project with our Green Prefects and also a cultural excahnge with our Holy Family Youth group. They made pancake for Shrove Tuesday, had a Tin Whistle and Bodrán workshop yesterday. Today they enjoyed some camogie and gaelic football.
Dear staff, students and parents
We have positive news for students and staff with the completion of the refurbishment of the school's existing three science labs. They will come back into operation later this month. The ongoing repurposing of another space, will see a fourth science room added to the sciences teaching and learning facilities at HFSS this year.
Wishing you all a very restful and restorative February mid-term break.

Tomorrow (Friday, 10th) we will celebrate Galentine's Day together in HFSS. A little early but we are breaking for mid-term break tomorrow too.The idea to do this comes from the SCR (Students Rep Council). No non-uniform day donation but please embrace our kindness theme by wearing PINK and/or RED. For G(V)alentine's Day on 14th February, why not do a kind deed for a good gal pal and keep sharing the kindness for each other as part of school family kindness.
