Book Character Dress Up Day for Lucy!

On Friday the children and staff from St. Conleth and Mary's Primary School dressed up as their favourite book character. Ms. Byrne's 6th class also ran Harry Potter themed art contests with the children drawing characters from the books and also creating bookmarks. Our school had a lovely afternoon celebrating Lucy, Harry Potter, art, dressing up and books. Well done to Ms. Byrne's 6th class and to all the children and staff who took part! Our winners on the day were: Posters: 2nd Class --Lily McCann, 4th class -- Anna Maria Petrufova, 6th class -- Emma Curran. Bookmarks: Susma Khatri. School Dress Up Day --Book Character!

St. Conleth and Mary's Primary School are holding a dress up day tomorrow Friday 27th May. Children are asked to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book. Donations are optional and all funds will go to Temple Street Children's Hospital.

St. Conleth and Mary's welcomed An Taoiseach Micheal Martin on Friday. He met with some of our children and staff for photographs and a little chat. We hope he enjoyed the visit to our school. Supporting your Child and Building Healthy Friendships

A cháirde, The National Parents Council are facilitating a series of virtual session on supporting your child in building healthy friendships and relationships. Friendships and relationships are areas that adults and children will all struggle with at some point in their lives. These sessions would be an excellent opportunity to pick up a few hints and tips and to begin to cultivate good habits and practices. The sessions will take place via Zoom on Monday 16th-Thursday 19th May at 10am and 7:30pm and also on Friday 20th May at 10am. You can register at: www.surveymonkey.com/r/RSE-Session1-May2022

St. Conleth and Mary's Primary School are welcoming past pupils to perform for our 5th and 6th classes on Tuesday the 3rd May at 2pm in the school hall. 4th Class Art Residency Exhibition

Throughout October and November 4th class were lucky enough to have a resident artist work on visual art projects every Friday. The children created written stories, radio reports with sound effects, prints from items with a special meaning to them and shadow puppets. The results of their work is on display throughout May in Newbridge Library. Visitors are welcome and you may decide to join the library and access the huge selection of books, audio books and ebooks available to borrow. The children may also wish to get involved with the free Summer Stars reading project. Prizes and a party for participants!

Good evening A reminder that school resumes tomorrow, Monday 25 April, following Easter break. Classrooms are open to receive pupils from 9am. Please see the earlier post regarding the appropriate school uniform for Term 3.
National Parents Council supporting parents to support their children's mental health and wellbeing

A training programme by National Parents Council Primary in conjunction with St. Patrick's Mental Health Services. This programme supports parents to encourage and promote positive mental health and wellbeing in their children. The programme also explores how the building of resilience in children helps them to manage and cope with the day-to-day stresses of life as they occur. Parents who attend this online session will: Explore the factors that influence mental health and wellbeing in their child. Learn how to build and nurture resilience within their own child. Be given tips on how best to support their child’s positive mental health and wellbeing. Sessions will be taking place online via Zoom in the morning (10am) and evening (7.30pm) from Monday the 25th to Thursday the 28th of April, with an additional morning session (10am) on Friday the 29th. 4th Class Tag Rugby tomorrow!

A cháirde, 4th class are starting tag rugby in the Patrician pitch on Monday 4th April. Please bring spare sock, runners and tracksuit bottoms to school! Football boots can be worn if you have them but no need to buy any. Best of luck to all children involved!
