Who can use UCAS Extra? If you included five choices on your application, have received decisions from all five, and weren’t accepted, or if you declined the offers you received, you will be able to use Extra. If you did not use all your choices in your initial application, you don't need to use Extra, you can just sign in to your application and add another choice, as long as it’s before 30 June, and you’ve not accepted or declined any offers. Remember, if you originally only applied to one choice and want to add more, you’ll be asked to pay the extra £4.50 application fee. If you don’t hold any offers after 5 July, you will be able to add an additional choice using Clearing. www.ucas.com/undergraduate/after-you-apply/types-offer/extra-choices

Europe Day celebrates Europe’s achievements and unity, and commemorates the signing of the Schuman Declaration on 9 May 1950. This ambitious plan to secure long-term peace in post-war Europe is considered as the beginning of what is now the European Union. In 2022 Europe remains unified in working for peace, providing support to Europeans everywhere. St Augustine's College is proud to be a European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS). On Monday 9th May 2022 we were invited to the EPAS Awards Ceremony 2022 for the South Constituency. This was held at the Bru Boru Cultural Centre in Cashel, Co. Tipperary. We were one of seven schools in attendance. Proceedings began with a musical interlude from renowned violinist Nicole Lonergan, she played Ode to Joy. We were then address by four MEPs Sean Kelly, Grace O Sullivan, Deirdre Clune and Billy Kelleher. They outlined how the EU can help students and explained how they can enjoy the freedom of movement to live, work and learn in any of the 27 EU countries. The 7 schools then gave their presentations to the audience and discussed the different EPAS events in their schools during the year. Congratulations to Caoimhe Norris, Sheileen Tracey and Angel Walsh for delivering an excellent PowerPoint presentation on the EPAS events that this years TY group were involved in. Students then enjoyed a Q&A session with the MEPs and were also treated to lunch. Well done to all our junior ambassadors that were involved in events during the year and to those that travelled to Cashel. Many thanks to Senior Ambassador Ms McGann for driving the EPAS programme in the school. Europe Day was an opportune moment to focus on the importance of young Europeans in building a better future that is greener, more digital and healthier.

On Saturday morning the Pieta House, Darkness into light walk took place from Friary College. It was a great success with a brillant turnout of people joining the already thousands that completed the walk across the country. The event continues to help raise awareness and much needed funds for the suicuide prevention charity Pieta. A big thank you to the students and staff that turned up at 3am to help run the event successfully. Also a big thank you to all the teachers and students that helped out in the lead up to the event organising, decorating and making posters to put up around the school.
