Science Tour October 2022

Dear Parents. A science trip for next year's second year has been planned for Friday 14th October. We hope to depart the school early on Friday morning. A short summary of the tour is outlined below. Friday Armagh Planetarium and workshop Titanic Museum Belfast Evening Dinner Shared hotel accommodation. Saturday Tayto Park Shopping Return to school The cost of the tour will be approximately €240-€250 depending on the final numbers going. If you are interested in your son or daughter taking part please send an email to sciencetour22@staugustines.ie and include the students name and parents name. I will then reply to those parents who have responded by the 3rd of June outlining more details and how payments can be made online. A deposit of €100 will be required by the tour company in early june and the balance will be paid in September. The tour company have allocated 80 spaces for this tour and will operate on a first come first booked system. A waiting list will then apply and should students be unable to travel deposits could then be transferred. Thank You Michael Kavanagh
Junior & Leaving Cert Supervision week

Dear parents/guardians, Note there will be a supervised study week offered for all leaving and junior cert students from next Monday 30th - Friday 3rd. 3rd year students will be set up in a base classroom that will be supervised by teachers for the week. Hi, Please see below a revised surname divide for CAT4 Testing tomorrow to ensure an even balance of numbers Please ensure to click on the attachment as all students have a number beside their name. This number represents their allocated seat for testing in the STUDYHALL. Group 1 Surnames ending in ( A- L) 9.00-11.00. Group 2. Surnames ending in (M-Z) 11.15-1.15 When students are not being tested for CAT4 they must go to class as per their class timetable. Regards Elaine Moore. Guidance Counsellor.

Transition Year
Well done and congratulations to the 92 TY students that attended their end of year Transition Year interview during the past 3 days. Many thanks to the teachers that helped to conduct the interviews. We were so impressed with all of what you had to say and the amazing portfolios that you presented to us. The digital portfolio gave students the opportunity to reflect on projects, subjects, trips and events that they encountered during their TY year. They also developed their IT skills as they documented their year using a digital portfolio. I would strongly encourage parents of TY students to ask your son/daughter to show you their portfolio.

Dear 6th year Parents/Guardians, We are delighted to be able to hold our Leaving Cert Graduation Mass this Friday the 27th of May at 7 pm. The Mass will be held outdoors in the front of the school entrance, by the Memorial Garden weather permitting. The forecast looks to be in our favour thankfully. There will be refreshments in the Quad afterwards. Students should be in full uniform. Parking will be available on the Hockey Pitch. just inside the main entrance on the right. First year students not doing exams this friday 27th (Graphics and Home Economics) may stay at home to study. However if students not doing exams want to attend arrangements will be made for them to study in school while the exams are on.
