A huge well done to our TY students who took part in the girls Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition in Killarney today. Although they didn’t progress to the next round, they delivered some excellent speeches and represented our school proudly.

6th year Surfing

Last week our Sixth year PE students spent a fantastic day enjoying the challenge of a surfing lesson, followed by a spirited, sporting volleyball match!

Good humour, tenacity and craic abounded, as this lovely bunch of young adults celebrated their return to school!

Many thanks, as always, to Kingdomwaves Surf School's brilliant team at Inch, to Houlihan's Buses, and to all involved who made the day happen.

3D2 visited LilyMais in Dingle as part of their CSPE Action Project. Fran and Feargal gave a presentation on sustainability and the impact of fast fashion on our environment. The students had enormous fun modelling some of the beautiful and colourful handmade hoodies, beach dresses and bucket hats. All the clothing is made from upcycled cotton towels and end of line fabrics.
6th Year Pottery Workshop

The 6th year art students didn’t get as far as Limerick on Thursday for their museum tour due to the weather, but thanks to local potter and ceramicist Sinead Axworthy, the students had a great morning out at her new Flow Pottery studio in Milltown for an impromptu pottery workshop. Students learned about the medium of clay and got to make their own decorative plates. Thanks to Sinead for facilitating our students.

Hard luck to the Junior A Girls Football team, losing out to Skibbereen, on a bitterly cold day. A strong comeback in the second half just fell short against a physically stronger team.

3C2 CSPE Trip

The 3C2 class went on their CSPE trip to the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind in Cork today, they enjoyed a great tour of the facilities. Many thanks to the staff of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind for their generosity throughout our visit.
