Our second Junk Kouture submission this year is ‘Fashion through the Aegis’ by Mary Ellen McDonnell and Fia O’Gorman. The design and colour scheme was dictated by two old dresses (one white, one gold) attached together, with a flowing nylon sheet adorned with leaves, cut from used butcher trays, spray painted gold. It’s that time of year again where we present the submissions created for the Junk Kouture competition! First up is ‘Pretty in Purple’ by Síofra Griffin, Nessa Griffin and Siún Horgan. This design features a dress with the bodice covered in cd’s, with glue over them to add a textured effect, and the skirt widened by hula hoops underneath and old fabric attached - adorned with cut plastic bottles and bottle caps, each sprayed either silver or purple. The Parents Association of ISK would like to invite you to a Drug and Alcohol workshop for parents/guardians which will be held in ISK (in the Well) on Thurs May 23rd from 7pm-8.30pm. The aim of this workshop is to empower parents with the information and tools to engage in effective dialogue with their teens and equip them with the necessary information to promote healthy decision making. The workshop will be facilitated by Gemma Hilario and Lisa Sheehan who have extensive experience working in Drug and Alcohol services. We hope that as many parents as possible attend - and feel free to invite parents from other schools.

South Munsters Track & Field

Well done to all our participants in the South Munster Track and Field on Wednesday. Jack Morris came away with bronze in the junior long jump and our junior boys relay also claimed a bronze. The relay team was made up of Jack Morris, Ódhran Clifford, Michael Culhane and Ronán McDonnell! Great achievement, well done everyone on another successful outing!

A very exciting day in the school today as our business students were presented with their prizes for coming first in the Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Money Smarts Quiz 2024. Thanks to Bank of Ireland for their sponsorship and to Munster rugby players Dave Kilcoyne, Jack Daly and our very own Lily Morris for presenting the prizes. Congratulations to Aoibhe, Padraig, Conor and Sean on their win and to all who took part in the competition.

Not to be for our 1st year team as Abbeyfeale got the better of us finishing 2-0 in today's soccer final. We tried hard but never got going today with strong opposition, limiting us all over. A good campaign overall with lots to build on going forward. @faimunschools @faischools
