Archived : 09 Mar 2023, 12:00 AM
Next week we will hold College Awareness Week in the school - there will be a lot of college information on display around the school that students are encouraged to read and engage with. There will also be talks given by representatives from Maynooth University, Technological Univeristy Dublin, An Apprenticeships Talk and an Employment Talk on Opportunities in Intel . Any student with a question about colleges or careers - be sure to ask one of the Guidance Team.
We are also encouraging all 6th yr students to open their CAO accounts before Jan 20th (at the discounted price of €30) and to list their college course choices in order of preference.
PLC college courses are a vital back up for 6th year students and provide an alternative entry route to college for many - PLC courses are now open to apply - you apply directly on-line to each individual PLC college course. Again ask the Guidance Team if you need assistance with your application.
Thank you, The Guidance Team

Students went over to the Nursing Home earlier this week and sang for the residents in the Nursing Home. From Jingle Bells to Rockin around the Christmas Tree, the students clapped and sang, bringing some festive cheer to all. It was an enjoyable morning had by all and the residents even sang Feliz Navidad for the students and teachers. A huge thank you to all students and teacher who got involved.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we approach the end of the term and get ready for the festive season, may I take this opportunity wish you and your families a peaceful and happy Christmas. It has been a very busy term in Scoil Mhuire. The Christmas Newsletter summarises how busy a place Scoil Mhuire is. Extra-curricular activities are a very important part of education and we are fortunate that so many teachers are willing to give their time for the benefit of students.
The Carol concert held last night to raise funds for the Breakfast club was a fitting way to end the term. It was a wonderful night and to see students and staff performing together for the benefit of others epitomises what our school is about. Thank you for supporting this event and we will let you know later what funds were raised.
Again Happy Christmas and best wishes for the new year.
