Past-Pupils from the Naas Senior Hurling Team Visit Naas CBS

It was wonderful to have some of our past-pupils from the Naas Senior Hurling Team visit the school last week with their County, Leinster and All-Ireland Trophies! Thanks to Naas Captain Brian Byrne and his team mates Rian Boran, Cathal Dowling, Peter O' Donoghue, Ben O' Reilly, and Liam Walsh for taking the time to return to Naas CBS and talk to our students. 3rd Year Science Talk on Zoology and Evolution

Past-pupil Dayle Leonard returned to Naas CBS on Monday 14th March to discuss his work in NUI Galway in the field of Zoology and to do revision on Evolution with our 3rd Year students. He brought along some of the species he is working with in his lab in Galway. The 3rd Years got to meet 'Teddy', a ball python; 'Reenie' and 'Popcorn', two corn snakes; 'Anna' the tarantula and 'Deiscu', a geko. It was a great opportunity for the students to see where studying Science in Naas CBS can take them, as well as meeting some unusual animals not normally seen in the school! Congratulations to our Minor Cross Country Team who won the All-Ireland Title in Belfast on Saturday! Well done to the boys on this fantastic achievement: Jack Moloney, Hugh Kelly, Sean Higgins, Matthew Galvin, Niall McAndrew, Fionn Stewart Byrne, Edward Donegan and Micheál Niland. Thanks to Ms. Kilcoyne for her work in preparing the team so well and to 5th Year Student Killian Burke who mentored the team during the year.

Reminder to 5th Years that Meitheal applications and signed letters are due today. Please bring the signed letter with you to the interview on Monday if you have not already returned it with your application form today. Interviews will be held in the library on Monday. They start at 9.15 and you will be called from class when it is your turn to interview. Best of luck to everyone putting themselves forward.
