TY Belfast Trip

Our first trip to Belfast to do the Black Cab Tour took place yesterday for classes 4A & 4G.
The lads were given an eye-opening historical tour which included visiting the Shankhill Road, the Falls Road and the Peace Wall.
As always the lads were excellent and very respectful.
Thanks to Mr.Keating for organising these trips and to Mr.Maye and Ms.Cassidy who travelled with the groups yesterday.
Open Night

Our annual Open Night took place last Thursday evening. There was a great buzz around the school as management, teachers and students welcomed perspective students and their parents to Naas CBS. A sample of activities from various subjects and extra-curricular were on display. Thanks to all staff for facilitating such an informative and engaging Open Night. Thanks also to the students who volunteered to be involved in Open Night and especially the 5th and 6th Years who led the tours around the school.

Well done to the 2nd Year football team who won beat Ardscoil na Trionoide, Athy in their second round championship match today.

TY Canal Clean Up

Our TY students from class 4G and 4E spent the day yesterday doing our first canal clean-up of the year!
20 students in kayaks and 20 students on foot removed 20 bags of rubbish from the canal itself and along all the busy canal walks.
Many thanks to Ted Johnson’s, Cllr Bill Clear and Naas Tidy Towns for their help and support.
Huge thanks to Mr.Noone for coordinating the clean-up.
TY Students at the Aviation Careers Conference

A group of our TY students attended the Irish Aviation Students' Association careers exhibition in Croke Park today.
Students were able to learn about different opportunities available to them in the aviation industry, as well as getting to attend a talk given by Ryanair.
Thanks to Mr O'Neill for travelling with them.
Carl Lennox Senior Debut with Shamrock Rovers

Huge congratulations to 6th Year student Carl Lennox who made his senior debut with Shamrock Rovers against UCD in the SSE Airtricity League at Tallaght Stadium recently. Carl is part of the Shamrock Rovers Youth Team that travelled to Holland to face AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Youth League. They drew 1-1 in the return leg at home. Fabulous achievement, well done Carl!

I am delighted to be organising an optional trip to Barcelona for Transition Year students only in May 2023.
This is set to be an amazing experience!

Well done to the U-16 Basketball Team on another excellent win. They beat Confey College on a scoreline of 55-18. Hard luck to the U-19 Team who lost out by 33-26.

Thank you to the Meitheal Leaders for their great work in organising a very enjoyable table quiz for 1st Year students. Thanks also to the teachers who helped with supervision. Well done to the 1st Years for participating in such good spirits. They had the opportunity to mix with their peers from other classes and test their knowledge on sport, music, history and trivia! Congrats to the winning teams from each session: Teams C and P. Winners and runners-up each took home a €15 One4all voucher!

TY - Black Cab Tours of Belfast: Political Mural Tour

Transition Year
Throughout October and November we will be travelling to Belfast with the TY classes and the 6th year history class to take the Black Cab political mural tour of Belfast. This is an excellent and unique opportunity and is sure to be a trip that students remember.
We will be leaving at 8:30 am and aim to be back in Naas for 5pm. We will be asking for a €5 contribution towards the cost of the bus. This will be paid through the school app. No uniform required, however, appropriate clothing should be worn.
The dates of travel are as follows:
4A and 4G - 17th of October
4F and 4B - 26th of October
6th year history class and 4E - 7th November
4C and 4D - 30th of November
