Many thanks to everyone in the Naas CBS community that have donated toward the 'Darkness into Light' event.
So far we have raised almost €3000! Every €20 that you donate today can help Pieta’s therapists answer two calls to the 24/7 Crisis Helpline. We will keep our donation option in the school 'shop' open until next Monday 10th May for any final donations that you might like to make. Thank you again for the wonderful contribution you have made to Pieta House.
Because we can’t gather together in groups for large organised walks, people are finding all sorts of wonderfully creative ways to take part and help make hope shine. Many thanks to all our teachers for their help this week in bringing individual classes out for walks in support of 'Darkness into Light' and well done to all our students for getting involved to help raise funds for Pieta House.
You can see some of the other things that people are getting up to in this short video below:

Please remember that Pieta is always here to help – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you, or someone you know is being affected by suicide or self-harm, call Freephone 1800 247 247 or text HELP to 51444.

2021 LC Candidate Self Service Portal
Created : 27 Apr 2021, 1:00 PM
Archived : 27 Jun 2021, 12:00 AM
The State Examinations Commission has announced the reopening of the Candidate Self Service Portal between 12 noon on Tuesday 27th April 2021 and 6pm on Friday 30th April 2021 for candidates to review and finalise their level selection and their choices of examinations, Accredited Grades or both for the 2021 Leaving Certificate for each subject in which they are entered. Candidates made their preliminary choices when the Candidate Self Service Portal opened in early March and this second phase requires them to review and confirm their final options for each subject.
Candidates taking examinations will be able to change their subject level on the day of the examinations. However, the level in each subject which candidates select now will be their final level for the purposes of Accredited Grades.
All candidates are required to complete this process even if their choices have not changed since March. Candidates, already entered for the 2021 Leaving Certificate, who did not register on the portal in March will have the opportunity to complete the registration process and to make their final subject level choices.
This is the final chance to do this in order to be considered for accredited grades.
A comprehensive guide to this phase of the portal has been published on gov.ie/leavingcertificate and www.examinations.ie
The Candidate Self Service Portal helpline will be available throughout Phase 2 on 1800-111135 or 1800-111136

Deutsches Frühstück in CBS Naas

To celebrate being back in school and learning in 'almost normal ' classes our Leaving Cert group had a German breakfast outside.
Everybody got a Brezel, amongst other things. The Brezel is a typical snack for German children. Pupils often enjoy it as a standard snack for Kindergarten and right through all school years. We also had jam donuts, in German a 'Berliner'. The Berliner originates in Berlin and was first created in the 18th Century.
Even though the weather wasn't all that nice we all enjoyed our breakfast outside.
Here's hoping that many of our 6th year German students will continue to learn and speak German and maybe travel to Germany to experience food and culture first hand.
