In preparation for next weeks portfolio assessment, ALL students MUST complete a series of tasks before they come in for interview.
Can I ask that parents/guardians please check with your sons that they have completed this work.
These tasks are specific to their Digital Portfolios & project work.
I have made a short 5 minute instructional video for students to follow step by step.

2. Fill in the document in good detail.
3. Change the sharing settings of the doc to public (Anyone with the link can view).
4. Add the document to the homepage of their digital portfolio.

Legion of Mary

Every year around this time The Legion of Mary visit the school to talk to our sixth-year students ahead of their Leaving Certificate exams. Eileen and Aileen always give a lovely talk to the boys about the devotion to Our lady, the power of prayer and faith and especially to wish the boys the best in their exams and the future.
For the past two years Covid has prevented this talk unfortunately. However, today Eileen and Aileen came to the school and gave a socially distanced talk to six of our sixth years.
Two Rose bushes were planted for the leaving cert classes of 2020 and 2021. Aileen and Eileen left miraculous medals, a prayer card and a booklet explaining the origin and meaning and significance of the miraculous medal.
There is one of each of these items for every sixth-year student who wishes to take one.
Thanks again to Jamie Moore in 3rd Year for his excellent photography. Please click 'View Gallery' below to see more images.

Vourneen Hennessy of Naas Tidy Towns came to the school today to present our TY students with a lovely gift in appreciation for all the work our students do throughout the year for Naas Tidy Towns.
Today alone we have two teams of litter pickers working in the town. Also, today our TY students were busy in our garden, preparing soil, weeding, clipping grass and general garden maintenance.
Later today they will plant summer bedding and various seeds.
Larry Swan of Swans On The Green very kindly donated four bags of compost and eight trays of summer bedding flowers to our garden and orchard.
Well done to everyone involved and many thanks to Jamie Moore 3rd Year for the photos.

Green Schools Committee

Last Thursday, the Green Schools Committee made signs and posters about car idling. The committee urges drivers to turn off engines when waiting.
Driving leads to pollution and health risks and is the reason why Ireland has the third highest emissions of greenhouse gases per capita in the EU.
We ask that those who can walk or cycle, please do so and those who do drive to and from school to turn their engines off while parked outside of the school.
Every 1 minute spent Idling is equal to 1 km of driving. And for every 5 minutes spent idling, 1kg of CO2 is released.
