Our annual Wellbeing Week is taking place this week. Looking after the wellbeing of our students is central to what we do every day in the school. The aim of Wellbeing Week is simply to highlight the importance of wellbeing and of minding ourselves.

Over the course of the week we will have a number of organised activities for all students.

Our Junior Cycle students will learn about ways to promote and look after their wellbeing. All students will also be given the opportunity to go on wellbeing walks around Naas and use this time to reset and recharge.

Pictured below are some of our first year students enjoying their wellbeing walk on the green!

Our choir also performed at the sixth year assembly yesterday to celebrate the retirement of Ms. Canty and Ms. Costello. Well done to all involved on a fantastic performance!

All our 1st Year Modern Foreign Language students had great fun this week when our school marked European Languages Day. They were given the opportunity to sample some French and German treats (i.e. fresh Croissants, Kinderschokolade (German chocolate) and an Apfelschorle (a German apple drink)). Students were able to share what they have learned in their respective languages so far. Today, we also invited all our students to wear a European jersey of their choice to celebrate different cultures and languages.

Kind regards from the MFL Department.

Transition Year & The Hope Foundation

Last week we had Sheila Zebedee in to speak with our TY students about the fantastic work the Hope foundation does with street children in India.

Last year our TY students fundraised over €1200 for the foundation.

Sheila introduced students to the opportunity to get involved with The Hope Foundation's school immersion programme. This opportunity invites students to travel to India and see the work that the foundation does first hand. Students are required to fundraise €2500 individually.

The trip would take place next Easter and students would be a part of a bigger group from several schools.

It would be fantastic to have some of our TY students take on this opportunity.

Application forms were distributed last week and they need to be returned ASAP to Mr.Coy.

I would also like for any students who might still be considering it, but who are still unsure to let Mr.Coy know and we can arrange another meeting with Sheila to discuss the details further.
