Huge congratulations to the Naas U-14 Football Team who were crowned Kildare U-14 Division 1 Football Champions on Sunday. After a keenly contested game in tough weather conditions, Naas pulled away in the second half to beat Castledermot on a score line of 1-14 to 0-8.
Most of the team from Naas and surrounds are also 2nd and 3rd Year students in Naas CBS. Many are dual players who in some cases played five or six matches within the same week, so deserve huge credit for this win. Lead by a great group of mentors and parents, under the leadership of a fabulous coach, Jack O’Connor, it’s onwards and upwards for this group of players!
Well done to our U-17 Soccer Team who beat Piper's Hill 4-0 on Friday. It was a great team performance with the goals scored by Euan Cowzer (2), Sean Óg Boland and Sean Murphy.

Congratulations to Donal Shaw (L.C. Class of 2023) who achieved 100% in Physics and 99% in Biology in the Leaving Certificate this year. Donal is now studying Engineering in UCD. He is pictured with his teachers Ms. C. O’ Brien (Physics) and Ms. M. Murphy (Biology) at the recent Leaving Certificate Awards Night. It was great to catch up with Donal and congratulate him on his exceptional Leaving Certificate results particularly in these science subjects. We wish Donal all the best in his studies at Third Level.
Ms. Masterson & Ms. Cowper
Some of our Agricultural Science students completed a treasure hunt around the school for Science Week. They had to answer questions and follow the clues to complete the trail.

Well done to the Senior Irish Debating Team who competed in the Comórtas Uí Phiarsaigh debating competition for English-medium schools, in St. Wolstan’s Community School, Celbridge. The competition is run by Gael Linn and aims to promote to use of the Irish language with a focus on relevant and topical issues. The team consisting of Luke Mulvihill, Cillian O’ Brien and Joseph Ryan argued in favour of the motion:
‘Ba cheart go mbeadh smacht iomlán ag tuismitheoirí ar mheáin shóisialta a bpáistí faoi ocht mbliana déag’ (Parents should have full control over the social media of their children under 18 years of age)
The standard of Irish displayed was phenomenal and the team performed very well against St. Wolstan’s Community School Celbridge, Scoil Mhuire Trim and Newbridge College. Unfortunately they narrowly missed out on a place in the next round. The team put on an excellent display of Irish and debated to a very high level.
Maith sibh!
Ms. O’ Donovan, Ms. Fleming, Ms. Gully and Ms. Byrne.
