The aim is to get everyone to ‘get lost in a good book’ on the 24th of February, Ireland Reads Day – whether that’s reading a book, a newspaper, a comic – whatever works. There are lots of events taking place in libraries across the country too so please visit www.irelandreads.ie, or check in with your local library.

Great achievement for our rowing team in Tallaght Leisure Centre today. They turned their first appearance into gold after beating another five schools in the 2000m relay race.

Our U16 A Team lost to Sandford Park A Team in the nerve-racking final of the Div.4 Dublin badminton league. The match finished 3:3 and the referees had to count the points to decide the winner. Mount Carmel lost 157:142, but left a great impression and made us proud. Well done to Nandin, Madison, Courtney, Sabraina and Kayla!

Our TY students enjoyed a visit from 2nd class in St. Mary’s Primary School, where they read some Little People Big Dreams biographies together before having some sweets and looking at our baby chicks starting to hatch

Our fantastic U16 A Badminton team is in the final of the Dublin Badminton League, Div.4 after beating a strong Mount Temple team. Good luck in the Terenure Badminton Centre after the mid-term break!
