2nd Year Garden Art

Miss Kelly’s 2nd year Art class have been busy creating landscape Art/Sculptures. The students have created Art/Sculptures outside in the fresh air in their garden or near their homes. The students have observed the beauty of nature that surrounds them. The inspiration for their land Art/Sculpture work is based on the artwork by British Artist, sculptor, photographer and environmentalist Andy Goldsworthy. The two rules students had to follow was that they could only use what they could find in nature to create outdoor land Art/Subcultures and all natural materials had to be sourced safely within the 2km radius from their homes while following social distancing guidelines. “I enjoy the freedom of just using my hands and "found" tools--a sharp stone, the quill of a feather, thorns. I take the opportunities each day offers: if it is snowing, I work with snow, at leaf-fall it will be with leaves; a blown-over tree becomes a source of twigs and branches. I stop at a place or pick up a material because I feel that there is something to be discovered. Here is where I can learn." - Andy Goldsworthy A special mention goes out to Agata Berth for her wonderful photo of her Land Art Architectural Sculpture made from stones and shells that was that was inspected by her wooly caterpillar called “Bobby.” These wonderful pieces of art were created by: Agatha Berth Aisha Ikeje Alami O_Reilly Andrea Aguirre Ciara Bartley Eqaan Khan Julianne Juson Medb Conroy Momina Dawood Ruby Doolan Sarah Coyle Sophie Morrin Tamanna Dilruba
