The Naughton Scholarships are a scheme of scholarships to promote the study of engineering, science and technology at third level by students in Ireland. Each year from February to May Leaving Certificate students can apply for a scholarship if they intend on studying science, engineering or technology at third level that year.
They are particularly interested in students applying to study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related subjects rather then the more practical sciences (Medicine, Nursing, Veterinary, Physiotherapy etc). All applications are reviewed in August each year and the winners of scholarships are notified in September.
To be considered for a scholarship students must (a) be attending a second level school in the Republic of Ireland (b) be an applicant applying for admission to an engineering, science, maths or technology related course in any publicly funded university or third-level institution in Ireland, including Northern Ireland.
A Naughton Scholarship is currently worth €20,000 (€5,000 for each year of a four year undergraduate degree) or €15,000 for a three year degree.
Please see www.thenaughtonfoundation.com for further information and application details.
The Closing Date for receipt of applications is midnight on 31st May 2020.
Further information on this and other available scholarships is on the school website in the Guidance Department section.

We are very excited about the upcoming launch of the OLS Believe It to Achieve It Foundation on March 26th. The purpose of this foundation is to raise funds for Our Lady’s School in order to support the important educational opportunities that will enable our students to develop belief in themselves so that they can create the highest possible vision for their lives. It is envisaged that the Foundation, over its life, will support the Arts, Sciences and Sports needs of the school.
We invite you, as parents, to join us in this worthy venture as we work together towards empowering our students to live their best lives.
As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child. At OLS we are privileged to have the backing of a strong community, of past and present students, parents, staff members, the RCE and the local community. On March 26th we hope to gather these forces. A group of parents has been working with outstanding dedication to organise a superb evening for the whole school community. The earlier part of the evening (a celebration of current and past students as Believe It to Achieve It Ambassadors) will be hosted by OLS parent Alison O'Connor while OLS parent Niall Rynne will chair an expert sporting panel later on.
It promises to be a wonderful evening and we hope you will join us. Book your seat here: www.eventbrite.ie/o/our-ladys-school-foundation-29810469729

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Our Lady’s School is taking part in a Green-Schools school initiative. We are promoting sustainable travel to and from school. From 9th – 13th of March, all students are asked to walk, cycle or “park and stride” to help improve air quality, reduce emissions and create a healthier environment around our school grounds.
By making this simple change, we can make a real difference and improve the quality of air we all breathe. Let’s give it a go! We would like to thank you for your continued support.
Kind Regards,
The Green-Schools Committee
