Congratulations to all our students who represented OLS superbly in the BT Young Scientist competition last week: Hannah Molloy(B1) & Lucy Somers (M1), Amy McNamee (B1) & Cliodhna Foley (B1), Caoilin Dunne(B4) & Beatrice Rath (B4). In particular, well done to Caoilin & Beatrice who were awarded Highly Commended (in the Chemical, Physical & Mathematical Sciences for their investigation on The implication of modern materials affecting force and how it contributes to gameplay) and to Amy & Cliodhna who placed 3rd (in Chemical, Physical & Mathematical Sciences category. Their investigation looked at Measuring the speed of the wind: Why does the wind blow?).

Dear Parents/Guardians, As you are aware, this academic year we have been trialing a one-hour class timetable. This was in response to the Covid 19 situation. We are currently reviewing this emergency measure with a view to planning for next year and would appreciate your feedback based on your daughter's experience to date. We would be grateful if you might take a few minutes to fill in this survey: forms.gle/f3E2zLpjupeTd2Dx6 Many thanks.
Clarification: School is on tomorrow!

Originally on the school calendar a staff training day was scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, which involved a school closure for students. In light of current circumstances, this has been postponed. and school is most definitely on, on-line, for all! Apologies for any confusion. Well done to all our students and teachers on a great Monday's work! We had an energetic and positive start to our remote learning! If any student was unable to collect books from school last week during their scheduled slot due to illness/isolating, they can do so on Wednesday after school (1.40 - 3.40pm). They must sign in at Reception when they arrive. Students who are close contacts/isolating are not to attend and may contact their Year Head at a later date to arrange collection of materials. Many thanks.
Welcome back!

We look forward to welcoming our students in to their remote classrooms tomorrow morning! A reminder that classes will begin at 9.28am (staff meeting at 8.30am). At this time, students are to go to the Google Classroom for their 9.28am subject and follow instructions posted there. Tonight’s mission: check that your home workspace for the school day has been negotiated, is clean and that your school books and materials are there ready to use. Check that your device is charged and ready for action... You need to be charged and ready for action too so early to bed tonight!
