Well done to you all the students on engaging with both the Web Summit talks and St. James' talks this week. Well done on all who entered the Amber flag photo competition and a special well done to Grace Millington on her win with her fantastic photo, it was posted earlier in the week on the app and is also available to view on the google classroom. Please see some notices for the week ahead: 1. A reminder that there is no school on Monday. 2. The christmas exam timetable has been posted on the google classroom. Please ensure you daughter views it and that she also knows her classroom allocation for the three days. 3. Wednesday the 9th the girls will have a study skills session to assist them in focusing their study leading up to the exams. Times and locations will be posted on google classroom. 4. On the 8th and 10th of December we have our fabulous entrepreneurs selling their wares in St. Joseph's Hall. They have many exciting and innovative products which will make excellent Christmas presents for all the family. 5. Friday 11th of December the students involved in the Make Up Extracurricular class with Ms.Kelly have details of a workshop they are attending. Please make sure that your daughter reads these details if she is involved in that club. 6. Well done to our enterprise class on the successful hoodie order. The TY hoodies are allowed to be worn to school as part of the uniform on TY event days only. Examples of these are Development Days (Next one is 18th Dec), Workshops (Next one is 21st Dec), Exams (15 - 17th Dec), hikes, etc.

Donation to Laura Lynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice

Well done to Ms O'Sullivan's TY Enterprise class who ran a very successful raffle in aid of Laura Lynn. The winners (those who most accurately guessed the number of sweets in the jar!) were delivered their prizes today. An on-line donation of the proceeds (€100) was made to Laura Lynn today. Well done TYs!
Golden Ticket Event

We had our first ever Junior House committee meeting in OLS this week. 2 students from each 1st, 2nd and 3rd year class got a golden ticket and were invited to meet with their House Captains and 6th year councillors to share their ideas. Our aim is to spread House spirit throughout the entire school community. We can’t wait to see some of our plans in action over the next few weeks.
1st year Christmas Decorations Competition

Well done to all the First years who took part in a Christmas decoration making competition on Monday. They made use of recycled materials to create unique decorations which will be placed on our Christmas trees by the Junior House Committee this week. The winners were : Alannah Kelly B1, Kate Smyth C1, Ailbhe Dunleavy L1, Sophie Semenova M1 and Ava Fehily P1.
Christmas comes to OLS

The Amber Flag committee brought some Christmas cheer to our rooftop garden today. The tree is decorated with some of the ornaments made by the 1st Years during Pastoral Care on Monday. We hope it'll bring a bit of Christmas cheer as you pass by following the one way system to class!

Raffle Reminder

The 12 Gifts of Christmas will be revealed tomorrow and students will be commissioned with their challenge of selling a booklet of tickets (5 x €5) during the week. Any final donations would be very welcome today or tomorrow before the selling season gets underway! We would like to extend a huge thank you to the families who have donated to the cause. The support for this initiative is very encouraging and shows how much our school community values the physical and mental health of our students.
