For the final and most important term of the year in 3rd Year we are focusing on arrivng to all classes of the day on time and also the wearing of the correct full uniform. The majority of students are excelling on both of these expectations. This is due both to their own high standards and to the continued support from home. Congratulations and thanks to the 3rd years and you their parents/ guardians. An 8.30am Wednesday morning detention will continue for the small number of students not wearing the school uniform or being late to class twice or more without a note. Students should ensure to bring all necessary equipment, including exam papers to each class as teachers prepare students for their upcoming State Exams. Thank you for your continued support. There are a small number of parents for whom the App doesn't appear to be working. Please be advised that you can make a cash payment until 5 00pm Tuesday. The payment should be placed in a sealed envelope. I would appreciate your putting your Childs name, FAO Denis Dennehy and First Year Tour on the front. "I am not for leaving any child at home" so do please make sure I know! denisdennehy@cpckilcullen.com

Dear parents, guardians and students, I am delighted to confirm that the graduation mass and ceremony of the class of 2022 will take place in the Church of the Sacred Heart and Saint Brigid, Kilcullen on Thursday 26th May at 6.30pm. This will be the first in-person graduation since 2019 and we are grateful to the priests of the parish for facilitating this important milestone event for our students. Given the proximity to the Leaving Certificate exams and the importance of minimising the risks of illness at such an important time, the following arrangements will apply: * graduating students may be accompanied by up to two guests * all attendees will be required to wear face masks in the church during the mass and ceremony As always, students must wear their full school uniform. Due to the ongoing public health situation there will be no reception in the parish centre afterwards and we would encourage families to celebrate the achievement of their son/daughter together and be mindful of the upcoming examinations. We look forward to celebrating the graduation of the class of 2022 with you. Kind regards J Leonard Principal

Following on from the success of our CPC rugby teams in their first year in existence, it is great to see CPC students excelling with their teams outside of CPC too. Firstly Newbridge RFC’s U14 boys had a great victory in the Leinster u14 Schools-Youth Cup Final played in Energia Park, Donnybrook on Sunday, beating Rathoath RFC 18-0. This completes a brilliant double for the team having won the Leinster League the previous Sunday in a tight match against Clontarf RFC. Below is a picture of the CPC students involved; Mathew Blaney, Luke Duffy, Sean Hoey, Turlough Donnelly, Archie Galvin, Myles MacNamara & Harvey Quinlan (missing from picture). Well done lads. Also a huge congratulations to Luke Sheerin (4th year) & Dylan Rafferty (3rd year) who recently won the Leinster U16s Plate Final in Donnybrook with Athy RFC defeating Wexford on a scoreline of 39-12. Well done lads.

Walk for Water

Dear parent/Guardian, As part of our green school ‘water’ theme this year we are organising a mini ‘walk for water’ Friday 13th May. The walk celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people around the world living without access to safe water, it provides an opportunity for students to learn more about water related issues and sparks discussion about these issues. In Ireland most of us have access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation. Everyone in the world should have this access. The walk for water will raise awareness about women and children around the world who walk an average of 6km a day to access water and have to carry it on their way back. Our mini ‘walk for water' will symbolise this journey. It will take place during class time Friday 13th May and all 1st years are asked to take part. On the mini ‘walk for water’ students will walk a 3km route and collect some (the amount will be optional) water in a bucket from the spout/spring near the river in Kilcullen. Students can choose to share the carrying of the bucket with a partner or carry it alone. This topic is also very much related to the students Geography and CSPE courses. If there is any reason that a student cannot take part please let us know by Monday 9th May and alternative class arrangements will be made for this student. Yours Sincerely, Ms. Flanagan Ms. O’Dea Ms. Twomey Ms. Duke
