And Finally First Year School activity day.. has arrived

Just a recap for parents and students of First Years. All First Years should be in the complex car park for 8 50 am. Go directly to the complex car park. Each group has been assigned a bus 1A & 1B the Blue bus; 1C & 1D the Red bus; 1E & 1F The Green bus. When the bus is full it will leave. so if you are running late tell a class mate on the bus. We will return to the Complex car-park for 4 00pm. Don't Bring anything valuable ( it may get broken given the nature of the activities ) leave it at home ! light Blue official PE top and track suit bottom to be worn. An old 'wind sheeter' would be advised given the unpredictable nature of the weather. Footwear should be comfortable but 'well loved' not new! A light shoe bag or back pack would be good to transport water and packed lunch. Bring a good lunch and snacks. it will be very activity based, expect to be hungry! We will not be shopping. we may get to McDonalds on the return journey but this is not guaranteed, owing to time constraints. So only bring the price of a McD! get a good nights sleep! I'm 'buzzing' its been so long to get out on such an outing as this... Its really important that we behave to the high standard that is expected, Tomorrow we will be ambassadors for the CPC and that means ensuring that the good reputation of the school is enhanced by all who travel tomorrow. Kindness to those we will meet, appreciation of their efforts to make the occasion memorable is something we tell those we work, with tomorrow! They will know we have been there based on the great experience we will have together. Kilkenny here we come.

Mini ‘Walk for water’

As part of our green school ‘water’ theme this year we are organising a mini ‘walk for water’ Friday 13th May. The walk celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people around the world living without access to safe water, it provides an opportunity for students to learn more about water related issues and sparks discussion about these issues. In Ireland most of us have access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation. Everyone in the world should have this access. The ‘walk for water’ will raise awareness about women and children around the world who walk an average of 6km a day to access water and have to carry it on their way back. Our mini ‘walk for water' will symbolise this journey. On the mini ‘walk for water’ students will walk a 3km route and collect some water in a bucket from the spout/spring near the river in Kilcullen. Please support them if you see them on their journey!

Could I ask all parents of 3rd Year students to ensure that they complete the Google Form on the 3rd Year groups Google Classroom. This is to gather information for the OALs ( other areas of learning) on the JCPA. The Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement that students receive with CBA and State Exam results. Otherwise this section will be blank which will be regrettable. The link must be 1. Accessed through the students CPC email account 2. Completed on a laptop or computer if the phone is not allowing access to the form. Many thanks, A.Fennell.
