Circular S21 24 Outlining the Deferred Examinations Sitting 2024

Dear parents/guardians and students,

the SEC provides a scheme of Deferred Examinations for Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied candidates unable to sit one or more papers in the main sitting in June on grounds of;

  • Close family bereavement – funeral preparation and attendance
  • Serious medical conditions – accident, injury or illness

The document has been published on the SEC Website and is attached to this notice in Pdf.

While we all hope nobody would require this provision, it is important that all understand the very specific circumstances in which it can be availed of.

TY Assembly - Well Done!

It was great to gather all of our TY students together today for assembly to congratulate them on how well both of their trips to Carlingford and Rome went last weekend.

All staff who traveled with the students were full of praise for how well the students behaved and cooperated on the trips. 

The students reported having a great time and making great memories. They presented their teachers with a small thank you gift for organising and travelling with them on their trips. 

Well done to our TY students we are very proud of you.

5th Yr Assembly

At our 5th Yr Assembly this morning, we spoke about our upcoming school trip to Tramore and referred to study preparation and planning for the end of year exams. Ms. Mc Donnell explained how some 6th years will offer advice and support to the 5th years at the planned info-meets next week. A number of 5th Yr students received Student of the Month Certificates in acknowledgement of their excellent work ethic and positive contributions to school life in CPC. Congratulations to all the recipients. We wish all of our 5th years the very best of luck in their final term in 5th year.



Rubbish Film Festival Regional Final Winners!!

Congratulations to our TY students who won Best Film at the Rubbish Film Festival Regional Finals today! Their film FAST FASHION was a powerful commentary on our need to reduce, reuse, and recycle. The standard of films from schools across the country was very high, and we are thrilled to be selected.  We are excited to attend the National Finals in May.
