Hi all,
I am writing to let you know that that CUBS at UCC are running the HEA summer school online in "Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Creativity" again in 2021.
This programme has been hugely popular with second level students interested in developing the entrepreneurial skills and ideas.
The programme is free with lots of great prizes to be won and runs for one week in July from the 5th to the 9th of July.
We would be delighted if you could share this with your students as places will be limited.
Students can apply by e-mailing ronan.ofarrell@ucc.ie
Kind regards,
Ronan
June Fest Poetry Competition

Poetry competition open to people of all ages resident on the Island of Ireland – with a prize fund of €780.
Full details are set out in the attachment
As a former post-primary principal, I am very aware that there are a lot of budding poets in post-primary schools. Indeed, only this week I read a stunning poem by a 15-year-old that will probably never be read by other than some of his immediate family.
Unlike other areas of interest such as sport, poets have very few opportunities to showcase their talent. Nor do they receive any great support or encouragement from the wider society. In recognition of this, June Fest, in Newbridge is running a poetry competition as part of its 2021 festival.
Full details will be on the new June Fest Website (www.junefest.ie/) later in the the month when it is launched.
Many thanks for your kind assistance in this matter.
Kind regards
Pat O’Mahony

As you may have seen amongst the many communications about the Leaving Certificate arrangements for 2021, the Department of Education announced that classes for ALL years groups will finish on 28th May.
This has now been confirmed in a letter from the Department to all schools in which they state:
"Following discussions with the education partners it was agreed as part of the Accredited Grades process, that post-primary schools would close on 28 May this year rather than 4 June in order to complete the work required on Accredited Grades."
Kind regards
