Surf Club Session 4 is on tomorrow at 11am. Students must be at Strandhill Surf School by 11am. only 30 students allowed. Remaining students have been informed they will be surfing on Thursday. Any student who missed a previous session will also be surfing Thursday. Thursday group meet at surf school at 10.45am not 12pm as previously advised. Neither group returns to school afterwards.

Training this week U14 (1st and 2nd year) will be Thursday after school. Junior and Senior teams will train Wednesday after school.

U14 (1st and 2nd year) rugby will no longer have a match tomorrow Thursday due to level 3 restrictions. Training will be on Thursday week the 15th Of October and will continue to run on Thursdays for the foreseeable future.

Junior and Senior Rugby training will still go ahead tomorrow evening after school. We will be implementing the new guidelines regarding pods of 15 and non contact.

Training for the U-14 team will take place Monday evening after school. Senior and Junior teams will have training Wednesday after school.
Father John Leogue College of the Immaculate Conception Ethos Award 2020

Father John Leogue (1960-2016) was a former student and teacher at the college. This award is sponsored by his family in his memory. The Father John Leogue College of the Immaculate Conception Ethos Award is conferred on either: a student of the College, a parent of a currently enrolled student, a staff member (past or present) or a past–student. They must have contributed in a particular consummate fashion to the Catholic Ethos of the College as expressed in its Mission Statement and Motto. The recipient will have shown in a particularly demonstrative fashion commitment to contributing to the life of the college community in a practical manner which focuses on living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ by being guided by the school’s motto “to be doers of the word” (Estote Factores Verbi – James 1:22) Each year members of the Board of Management, Staff of the College and the Student Body will be invited to nominate candidates for the award citing how in particular they fit the criteria above. The award will be decided by a committee consisting the Chairperson of the Board of Management, one of the Patron’s nominees to the Board of Management, the Principal, Deputy Principals and the School Chaplain. Should any members of the committee be nominated for the award they shall exempt themselves from the decision making process. In exceptional circumstances the selection committee may petition the Board of Management to have the award conferred on someone who is not at past or present student of the college, parent of a currently enrolled student, or a past or present member of staff.] If you wish to nominate someone for the above award please email info@summerhillcollege.ie stating why you think they should be considered by 4pm on Wednesday November 11th 2020.
Surf Club session 3 is going ahead this Monday, September 28th at 9am.

Students are requested not to attend school beforehand. Meet at Strandhill Surf School at 9am. The session will take 3 hours from start to finish, with a 12pm estimated finish. Students can return to school afterwards and sign in at the school office. Many thanks, PE Dept.

Surf club is confirmed for this Monday at the revised time of 11am. Students must leave school at 10.35am and meet at Strandhill Surf School by 11am. The session will take 3 hours. Students DO NOT return to school afterwards. Thanks, PE Dept.
