Connacht Junior Camogie Champions.

Congratulations to the Taylor's Junior Camogie Team who won the Connacht Final and are now the Connacht champions. The girls won with a scoreline of 4-4 to 3-3 over Scoileanna Connemara in very difficult conditions. The team will now go on to represent Connacht in the inter-provincial Competition.
Lidia Wins All-Ireland Scholarship

Congratulations to 2016 Leaving Cert student Lydia Shafik who was presented with an All-Ireland Scholarship award from JP McManus over the weekend. This scholarship was in recognition of Lydia being one of the highest achieving Leaving Cert students in 2016 and gaining a maximum 625 points. The presentation took place at a special ceremony in the University of Limerick. Lydia was presented with her award by JP McManus and Minister of State for Sport and Tourism, Patrick O'Donovan TD. The guest speaker was rugby legend Paul O'Connell.

Congratulations to all our students participating in the Irish Schools' Rowing Blitz in Trinity College today. The girls did really well. The Taylor's 1st Year team won the Under 14 category beating about 40 other teams and our under-16 team finished 3rd overall so a brilliant performance by all involved.
Clare Wins Golden Voice of America Competition.

Congratulations to 5th Year student Clare Quinn who recently won the Golden Voice of America competition. As a result of this Clare will perform in New York, Austria, Italy and Germany next summer. This is a tremendous achievement and everyone in the school is very proud of Clare's success.
Non-Uniform Day in Aid of GSCPA

The Student Council organised a costume/non-uniform day today in aid of GSPCA. Over €400 was raised to help support the charity. Well done in particular to Aisling McNeill (1/1) and Sara Agboola (2/4) who won prizes for their costumes.
Junior Cert Business Studies Awards

Congratulations to our Junior Cert Business Students who achieved A grades in their Junior Cert exams last summer. The girls were presented with certificates at a special function in NUI Galway. The girls who were awarded with certificates were Michelle Gormley, Sarah Hynes, Wakilatou Latidoye, Anna McNena and Eabha Ni Chonlain.

Well done to all our TY students and their teachers who organised a Maths Fair today for the 1st Year students. There was a wide number of maths based activities that the students could get involved in including a treasure hunt around the school and maths puzzles to be solved.
Choral Workshop for 1st Years

Dr.Aisling Kenny, a past pupil of the Dominican College, led a choral workshop for the 1/1 and 1/3 Choir classes. The workshop focussed largely on vocal technique and warm up exercises. Dr. Kenny is a soprano and musicologist who performs as a soloist and ensemble singer and presents recitals and lectures. It was a most enjoyable and informative experience for all the girls.
WellRead Awards

Well done to Ms. Kerrigan, Ms. Byrnes, Ms. McGrath and all the other students and staff who worked so hard to promote literacy within the school. Their hard work and achievement was recognised yesterday when the school was presented with the WellRead Award and flag. Collecting the award on the day were Ms. Kerrigan, Ms. McGrath, Amy O'Reilly, Nora Christians and Bronwyn Varette. The WellRead programme aims to create heightened awareness about the importance of creating a culture of reading in school communities for our young people as part of their personal and academic development.
