Congratulations to all the first years who participated in the schools inaugural Scifest exhibition on Wednesday. A lot of work went into each project and the judges were very impressed with the enthusiasm and knowledge of all the students. Well done to the overall winner Haya Bari for her project on ‘The effect of soda on teeth’. Runners up were Nora Jian and Zainab Shahzab for their project on ‘Humans vs AI’. Also commended were Riona O’Sullivan and Emily Griffith for their project on 'The acidity of different liquids’. Sincere thanks to the judges for their time and to all in our school community who helped make our first Scifest such a great success.
Our Ladies Lunch Fundraiser held in Elm Park earlier this month was a great success, we were delighted with the day and are already planning next years...
We raised €19k from the lunch (including the raffle on the day) which will go directly towards resurfacing our sports pitch this summer. We still have a long way to go to reach our fundraising target of €150k and therefore very much need help and support on this.
We will be launching our Grand Raffle on Wednesday the 8th of May which will be open to the whole school and wider community to purchase tickets. We have some really great prizes (and something for all ages) so we hope you will get behind this initiative by helping us maximise ticket sales.
Tickets will cost €20 for one ticket, €50 for five tickets and €100 for 20 tickets, details on how to purchase tickets and a list of prizes will be released next week.
If you are able to contribute a grand raffle prize or in a position to make a donation directly to the school, please contact us at fundraising@loretofoxrock.ie
A note on donations:
All donations are very much welcome. The school can claim tax back on any donations of €250 or more from each individual donor which means we receive an additional 45% (at no extra cost to you). So €250 donation amounts to €362 for the school.
Thanks very much,
Naoisha Maher, Head of Finance
