Earlier in this term we had a visit from one of our sister schools Loreto Toorak from Melbourne, Australia. We were joined by pupils and teachers from Loreto Beaufort, Crumlin, Dalkey and Omagh for a cultural day of music, dance and sport,
Our TY students gave a presentation on life as a teenager in Loreto Foxrock, we had performances from our Fleadh band, Irish dancers and singers.
The day was finished off with a basketball tournament between all the schools.
Thank you to all our wonderful students who contributed over the course of the day.

Congratualtions to Grace Carty in 1 Babthorpe who has qualified for the BT Young Scientist Competition.  This is a huge achievement as over 4000 students enter each year and only 550 are shortlisted to represent their schools on a national level.  The comptition will take place in January 2025.

Her project aims to investigate if there is any difference in age or gender in determining if a photo is real or has been produced by AI.  The more responses that she gets to her survey the better.  We would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete the survey on the link below.

Many thanks to Ms Hourican who has been supporting Grace with her project.

Our TY Students gave out treats and drinks and played endless music to keep everyone entertained and happy.

There was an ice cream van in school for all those students and staff who wanted some desert!

The 6th Years enjoyed a day of relaxation, prayer and contemplation at their retreat in Glendalough on Tuesday.

For the first part of the trip, they explored the key areas of the monastic site from the round tower to the well in peaceful reflection under the expertise of their guides. They finished the day with a hike where the weather held up and enabled them to appreciate the natural beauty of the area.

Feedback from the 6th Years was that it was a welcome break and helped them to feel more refreshed on their return to school.

Many thanks to Ms. O'Shea for organising the retreat and the accompanying teachers, Ms. Byron Smith, Ms. Cullen and Mr. O'Malley.
