First Years add their handprints to our School Pledge Wall:

Congratulations to our first years who have recently added their handprints to our School Pledge Wall. Our wonderful second-year and third-year student Anti-Bullying Ambassadors (ABAs) have been helping our first year students to complete their commitment to the school pledge by sealing their handprints with paint, around a copy of the ABA-designed pledge on the Pledge Wall.

The AB Pledge Book and Pledge Wall is a student ABA initiative, whereby all students are invited to commit to ‘making our school a happier place by treating everyone with real kindness and respect.’  First years sign the Pledge Book and then seal their commitment to honour the pledge with their handprint. Our first years are adding their handprints to years of imprints made by other students who chose to make this pledge.

Congratulations especially to our student ABAs who designed and made Pledge Bookmarks for each first year to keep in her school Journal as a reminder to try to live out the pledge every day in our school.

National Anti-Bullying Week 2024 - Choose Respect.

National Anti-Bullying Week 2024 (November 11th – 15th) followed immediately after National Stand-Up Week 2024 with the fitting theme of Choose Respect.

Last week in our school we chose to focus on our student-designed School Pledge which adds Kindness to the national message of choosing respect in our treatment of every individual in our school.

Our ABA message for this year is Inclusion is the Conclusion which is why awareness of the nine grounds for discrimination is only the starting point. Respect for diversity is essential but kindness is crucial for making our school a happier place for everyone. Well done to our student Anti-Bullying Ambassadors for offering reminders to us all of our promise to keep our School Pledge during this year’s National Anti-Bullying Week 2024.

Please feel free to look through a selection of photos of our students creating a vibrant rainbow of colour and happy smiles during our Rainbow School for a Day on November 8th in the gallery attached.
