Dear Parents and Guardians

The Board of Management wish to congratulate the class of 2024 on their amazing Leaving Certificate results.  We hope that Wednesday's CAO has brought good news and that the students can now move on to the next phase of their education.

4% of students achieved 625 points with 16% achieving over 600 points

31% of students achieved over 550 points

57%  of students achieved over 500 points

73% of students achieved over 450 points

88% of students achieved over 400 points

The work ethos in our school is very strong.  Our aim is for all students to achieve their potential and we strive to support our students to do this.  Our dedicated staff offer academic and emotional support to students.  The well being of students is supported through our pastoral care and extensive co-curricular programmes.  We hope that the students who leave us will go on to be participative members of the communities in which they live.  Moving on to a career and to college is a stepping stone in this journey.

We are very proud of all of our students, many of whom have faced adversity over the last six years.  Be proud of your achievements which are well deserved!

I wish to also thank you the parents who support us in our work here in school. I wish all of the class of 2024 every success for the future and encourage our younger students to follow their good example.

With every good wish to you all

Bernadette Prendiville

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are delighted to invite you to the grand opening of our brand-new sports pitch on Friday, 4th October from 1:45pm. This marks a very exciting moment for our school community, and we are incredibly grateful for your unwavering support and generous contributions towards our fundraising efforts to date, which helped make this project a reality. We will also be offering any individual/business the opportunity to buy advertising hoarding around the pitch, which  is a great opportunity to enhance the visibility of your business and engage with customers. Please contact nmaher@loretofoxrock.ie for further details.

Throughout the morning, our students will take part in a variety of activities run by an inspiring group of female sports stars. It will be a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn, have fun, and celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship.

To make the event even more special, we’ll have goodies for the students and tea and coffee available for parents and guardians. For those who wish to treat themselves, there will also be an ice cream van on site.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by our Principal, Ms Prendiville, will take place at 2pm, followed by a past pupils hockey match – a fantastic way to commemorate the new pitch!

We look forward to seeing you there and sharing in the excitement of this special day. Please note due to activities, it will not be possible to drive into the school grounds from 1pm.

Wellread and Library News

Well done to our blackout poetry competition winners - Ling-Chao Ruckenbrod, Tahlia Naidoo and Mary O'Callaghan! Congratulations also to everyone who entered the bookmark challenge. For every 3 books that students read and returned to the library for a stamp, they were entered into a draw. The winners of the draw are Nell Grzybowska, Naisha Agarwal and Ling-Chao Ruckenbrod. Prizes can be collected from the library. Finally, it is with great sadness but with best wishes that we say goodbye to our wonderful librarian, Ms Morrissey. After 41 years as librarian at Loreto College Foxrock, Ms Morrissey is retiring and embarking on new adventures. Ms Morrissey has had a huge impact on school life and will be fondly remembered for initiatives such as Readers' and Writers' Week, the Library Council and helping us to achieve our Wellread Readers for Life Award. The Library Council held a small party in her honour on Tuesday to recognise all Ms Morrissey's hard work over the years. There was even a surprise video message from a favourite in LCF, the story-teller Niall de Burca! We wish Ms Morrissey all the best for the future.
