Dear parents/ guardians,
We are 3 Babthorpe and as part of our CSPE action project, we wish to raise awareness and funding for the Irish charity called ALONE. This charity supports vulnerable and elderly people in our society with their services.
We have organised a Movie night open to all 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students for this coming Monday 11th March. It will take place in the Concert Hall from 4.15pm-approx 6pm. Tickets are €4 and this includes a goodie bag of treats you can enjoy. The link to pay for your ticket or make a donation is in the shop section of the school app.
We will be showing a surprise movie. All money raised from this event will go directly to the charity ALONE. We would also like to mention that "donations are appreciated". Looking forward to seeing many of you on Monday.
Thank you so much for your time.
Sincerely,
3 Babthorpe.
Big Congratulations to our U19 A team (Players: Sunny Fan / Elizbeth Reys / Elissa Popova / Fiona Wu) who won Girls Div 4 Runner-Up title in Dublin School Badminton U19 Finals!
Today, the whole school community attended the annual Christmas Carol Service. A huge thank you to Ms Browne and Ms O'Shea who planned and organised a beautiful service combining poems, carols and readings reminding us of the nativity story. The 6th year Leadership Team along with the students from our school choir shared their talents and helped make this event a memorable start to the Christmas. Wishing everyone a peaceful and healthy Christmas season.
Congratulations to the TY MUN (Model United Nations) team who recently participated in the Newpark MUN event.
The Foxrock delegation comprised Katie O'Donnell, Sarah Kearns, Helen Shang, Aoife Smith,Katie Montayne (all pictured), Parina Rucktooa-Gukhool and Alannah McCarthy.
Congratulations in particular to Katie O'Donnell and Sarah Kearns who were awarded the prize of "Best First-Time Delegate" for their committees SPECPOL (Special Political and Decolonization Committee) and Security Council.
Well done to Bohan Zhang who came in the top 52 out of 18,500 entries in the Maggie Gough Maths competition.
Well done to the 3rd year students who took part in a fundraising event to raise awareness and funds for the Dublin Simon Community. Last night a group of 3rd year students with their CSPE teacher, Mr Nulty, took part in a 'Sleep-in' in the school sports hall. Students returned to school at 7pm and stayed until 8am this morning. Many thanks to Mr Nulty for organising the event.
Students have sponsorship cards and all donations, no matter how small are greatly appreciated.
Hopefully the 3rd years will hold a couple more events to continue to raise awareness and funds for their chosen charity.
