Badminton Champions

Congratulations to our U16 Badminton Team who won the Dublin Badminton Final on Thursday. This is the first badminton silverware for the school and we are all very proud of them.
All our school badminton players went out to Terenure to support and the team and their coach Ray were welcomed back to school with a guard of honour.
Well done to Annie Tao, Lydia Wang, Sophie Guo, Sunny Fan and Alisha Mohanty.
Irish dancing success

A huge congratulations to Shamantha Sathyarajan (2nd year) who participated in Leinster pre-open Irish Dancing competition recently. She came 1st place in two solos and was placed 9th overall in the championship.

There was lots of sporting news and achievements this week.
Our first year athletics team won gold in the East Leinster Cross Country Championships, qualifying for Leinsters.
Ava Clarke came 3rd overall in the race.
A special mention to Eva Kelly who had to compete in the Junior race and still managed to finish 7th, qualifying for Leinsters. An incredible race.
Our 1st Yr A hockey cup team won their first round of the Leinster Cup and move on to the next round.
Our Junior A hockey team had a great win against Loreto Bray to progress to the quarter finals.

Congratulations to our sports star award winners.
Our December sports star of the month award winners are Katie Nolan, Jess Conroy and Ellen Cassidy.
Katie volunteers in sports outside of school and gives lots of time to GAA in her community. She is always willing to help in school and jump in if needed. Well done Katie.
Jess and Ellen show incredible school spirit in everything they do, the are hugely committed to their school teams and always around to help out at many sports, well done girls.
Tara Walsh and Annie Tao are our January Sports stars.
Tara is a multi sports star, excelling in GAA, hockey and basketball.
Annie is a member of our U16 Badminton team who are through to their Leinster final. Annie excels in badminton in school and outside of school.

Our U 16 A Badminton Team had great success today winning their Leinster School Semi Final against Mount Anville. This is a wonderful achievement being the first year we have entered teams into schools competitions. A special word of thanks to our coach Ray who gives such time and dedication to the all our teams.
The girls will play their final next week.

Wishing all our Leinster Hockey Interpro players the very best of luck in their final games of the Interpro series this week.
Grace Jones, Isobel Field and Sarah Byrne (TY) are playing on the U16 team in their final v Ulster on Sunday at 1.45 in Three Rock Rovers.
Rebecca Carthy (6th Yr) is playing with the U18 team in their semi final and hopefully a final.
We are very proud of all the commitment they have shown over the last few months. Good luck girls.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
You will be pleased to hear this will be my last sports update until 2023, enjoy the break. There will be no more training for 2022 in any sports, due to frozen pitches.
I wanted to say big thank you to all our students for their involvment and dedication to their sports, they are a credit to you all.
To our parents and guardians, thank you for your time and help in supporting the girls and getting them to and from their matches when needed.
To our coaches, a huge thank you for their expertise and enthusiasm.
I have attached a round up of the past few months of sport, lots of acheveiments and medals.
Wishing you all a very peaceful and restful Christmas break and looking forward to what lies ahead in 2023.

SVP Christmas Appeal 2022

Dear Parents / Guardians,
Our school Ember Team and 6th Yr. Leadership Team are once again holding our SVP Christmas appeal. Families are asked to donate items and send them into school with your daughter where they will be collected in their tutor time classrooms. Attached is a list of items that SVP need for Christmas 2022, each class has been assigned a specific item to bring in. Any family that can donate another luxury item can leave this in their classroom, luxury items can be tins of biscuits, chocolates, new toys or new clothing.
Our Ember team will be visting each tutor class next week and explaining to our students about the appeal and how they can donate. SVP will be visiting the school on Friday 16th of December to collect all of our donations.
We have always had a very generous response from the school community and we look forward to the the same this year.
