Guten Tag! Bonjour! ¡Buenos días!
Today, Monday 26th of September is European Day of Languages!
This European event is celebrated annually to raise awareness about language learning and linguistic diversity.
You can find out more about activities for 2022 at this link: European Day of Languages > Home (ecml.at)
This year, in Holy Family some of our students will be taking part in the European Day of Languages challenge organised by Léargas.
Thanks to our TY students for helping us celebrate this event in the school this morning!
On Monday, 19th September, during European Mobility Week, the 4P class were selected to represent their peers at the Walk 21 Forum in the EPIC Museum, Dublin, which is being hosted in Ireland this year. This forum was devised to allow students aged 10-18 years an opportunity to voice their opinions to an international delegate of UN and WHO representatives. Our HFSS students were heavily involved and worked collaboratively with their peers to identify the challenges and positives of walking and they offered solutions, which were collected by the Lord Mayor of Dublin. A most enjoyable day with our 4P students who were commended for their meticulous manners and positive cheer.
Congratulations to our Class of 2022 on their wonderful Leaving Cert results. We are very proud of our students and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
The students celebrated their results at their Debs in Dunboyne Castle last week.
Congratulations to our new Class Prefects and Vice-Prefects and to our 6th Year Senior Prefects who received their badges today.
Class Prefects and Vice-Prefects were elected by their peers to this important leadership role to represent their class, and their year group, and serve as a link between their classmates and their tutor, subject teachers and Year Head.
Captains and Senior Prefects play a central role in the life of our school, representing the student body on occasions, acting as role models for the younger students and generally undertaking a leadership role in the school. Those chosen have demonstrated their leadership within the student body and have the qualities deemed necessary to undertake this leadership role. They carry out a number of important tasks. The HFSS School Captain for 2022/2023 is Mia O’Connor. We wish Mia, her Senior Prefect Team and all our Class Prefects and Vice-Prefects the best of luck in their new leadership role in HFSS.
The TY students spent 3 days on Achill Island to start their Transition Year. They took part in surfing, cliff diving, bog snorkelling, ceili and other wonderful adventures that included making new friends, working as a team and trying new experiences.
Read about the adventures and memories that took place at Colaiste Achill.
