Congratulations to the senior debating team participating in this year's Concern Debates. There were 180 schools competing in the league phase involving three rounds of debates. The Holy Faith team scored a perfect 15 and finished top of the league. The team now moves into the knockout phase of the competion and will debate with the team from St Joseph's, Rush in mid January. Holy Faith will propose the motion "The SDGs are a waste of time". The debates in the knockout will continue to be on line. Best of luck to the debators (Siofra Corrigan, Sophie Faughnan, Sophie Kilcullen, Olivia Hogan and Ella Bracken) and staff mentors, Ms Conlon and Ms Mackey.
Well done to the 3rd Year students who took part in the Christmas Bake Off. Congratulations to the winners - Phoenix Hickson-Pitt, Emily Cullen & Ava Keenan and to all the runners up.
A huge thank you to all who contributed to our SVP Hamper appeal. We received food donations to make 25 hampers and will also be donating almost €2000 to the SVP. Thank you to Ms Halpin, who coordinates the appeal every year and made the hampers with some of our 6th year students this morning. Thank you to the 6th students for giving up their time to make the hampers. Well done all.
Please find attached the Parents' Association newsletter. A big thank you to all member of the parents' association and the many parents who organise and help out at the events.
Congratulations to Olivia Lam (TY), winner of the PA logo competition and to the runners up, Lauren Grant (3rd Year), Alma O'Connell (3rd Year) and Keqiao Chen (1st Year). Well done to all students who entered.
A big congratulations to Lisa An (3rd Year) who has become a member of the Dublin City Comhairle Na nÓg. Comhairle na nÓg are child and youth councils in the 31 local authorities of the country, which give children and young people the opportunity to be involved in the development of local services and policies. The members focus on a working topic for the year and this year's topic is education.
In light of the fact that Comhairle na nÓg is for young people under the age of 18 and who therefore have no other voting mechanism to have their voice heard, Comhairle na nÓg is designed to enable young people to have a voice on the services, policies and issues that affect them in their local area.
Lisa became involved in Comhairle na nÓg through the Hill Street Youth Project. Both the Hill Street Resource Centre and Holy Faith are very proud of Lisa's achievement. Well done, Lisa!
Congratulations to Ty students, Cecelia Choi, Orla Persse, Ciara O Brien and Rachel Sealy on their winning door design!!
Congratulations to 3rd year Hannah Healy on her recent achievements. U15 international schools player of the year and SSE WNL U17 player of the year.
Healy is just the second ever recipient of the Under 15s accolade. She joins the ranks with Jessie Stapleton of Palmerstown Community School who made history with the newly established category in 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic put a stop to our International programme in 2020 and 2021 but the programme returned this season to ensure a third consecutive title defence.
The introduction of this category is a wonderful acknowledgement of the contribution that FAI Schools are making to the player pathway at underage level.
Hannah captained the Republic of Ireland Schools to capturing the SAFIB Bob Docherty Cup and John Read Trophy last season. She was named Player of the Tournament as she led the line perfectly, scoring against England in the opening fixture and headed home the match winner against Scotland in the Final.
