School App - Version 5 Upgrade!

The App will be updated to Version 5 shortly. There are a range of new features which continue our drive towards a digital communications environment. If you have auto updates turned on the update process will be done automatically. Otherwise you will see an UPDATE message in your Notifications screen. Select UPDATE to complete the process. You will be asked to verify your mobile number during the update process. This must be the mobile number you have supplied to the school. Please note that only parents/students/teachers on the current schools list will be able to access the App. If you have changed your mobile number of if you have not supplied a mobile number you will not be able to access the App. Please note that if you do not update your APP certain features will not be available. End of Year Exam Dates

The start dates for the end-of-year exams are as follows: 1st Year: 25th May 2nd Year: 25th May 3rd Year: 18th May 5th Year: 21st May. As per the direction from the Department of Education & Skills, all schools must finish classes on Friday 28th May.

It was great to have our 5th Year students back in the school today. Thanks to Mike & Shauna from Corrib Catering who provided tea, coffee, cookies and muffins for the girls this morning.

Niamh on All-Ireland Camogie Winning Team

Congratulations to 3rd Year student Niamh McPeake who was on the Galway camogie team that beat Wexford to win the U16A All-Ireland Camogie title over the weekend. This team has made history by being the only Galway county camogie or hurling team to win three All-Ireland titles in a row. Niamh was named Player of the Match in the final.

The Galway Education Centre is hosting a free webinar for the parents of Leaving Cert students on the topic of supporting your daughter's Leaving Certificate learning journey. The talk will deal with the following aspects of learning: 1. How to simply get started and the importance of systems 2. The science behind motivation and how to apply it with your son or daughter 3. The importance of clarity - how to get it and maintain it. 4. Noise - minimising distraction and building protected time 5. Changing our approach to "time at the desk" - what the science tells us about optimising study and homework time 6. How you can encourage a learning environment.
