Mr Raymond McHugh Principal St Macartan’s College Monaghan                                 30/09/2020 Re: Covid-19  in St Macartan’s College, Monaghan Dear Mr McHugh, Thank you for your help in dealing with a recent possible Covid-19 exposure in St. Macartan’s College. We have checked contact details and are satisfied that, beyond a small number of pupils, there was no risk of exposure to any other pupils or staff members.  Transmission of infection to this group was not related to attendance at school.  All of these pupils are self-isolating and none will return to school until the recommended quarantine period has elapsed. We are satisfied that all necessary infection prevention procedures are in place in St Macartan’s College. There is no need for any additional measures in your school. Good evening, I hope you and your family are well and settling into your new routine as the school year begins. Your son is now in his third week of life here in St. Macartan’s College and I hope he is finding the progression to secondary school manageable and positive. From my interactions with our First Years students, I can assure you they are settling in well and have adapted to their new school in a very resilient manner. The group is very friendly and each class group is beginning to develop their own unique personality. If for any reason you have concerns regarding any aspect of your son’s education, please feel free to contact me by phone (047) 81642 or by email lwalsh-fitzgerald@stmacartanscollege.ie and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I look forward to working with you over the next six years. Yours sincerely, Linda Walsh Fitzgerald (Year Head)

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace Where there is hatred, let me sow love Where there is injury, pardon Where there is doubt, faith Where there is despair, hope Where there is darkness, light And where there is sadness, joy O Divine Master, grant that I may Not so much seek to be consoled as to console To be understood, as to understand To be loved, as to love For it is in giving that we receive And it's in pardoning that we are pardoned And it's in dying that we are born to Eternal Life Amen
