*** Update: Registration has been extended until Saturday 27th at 6:00pm. **** Information about the ISSU Townhall event that is happening this Sunday in relation to the State Exams. Tamara Whelan (6th Year) an ISSU representative for Waterford students will be at the event to answer questions that students may have about the recent announcement. Here is all the information you need : The second ISSU Town Hall will take place on the 28th February from 18:30 - 19:30pm following the recent announcement regarding the state examinations. This will be an interactive event where you can ask questions about the exams to your elected ISSU Officers! Dear /Parents/Guardians /Students, I hope you are well. We are delighted that we will see our students again from next Monday when our 6th year students will return to school. To facilitate a staff meeting on the return, there will be no LIVE classes from 3pm, Thursday 25th of Feb. There is a lot of work to be done before Monday and we will be in contact on Friday with more comprehensive information on the return to school. Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition for girls.

This competition is open to 4th and 5th year girls. Please contact ty@staugustines.ie and I will provide you with further details. The entry deadline is 3rd March. Public speaking is a fantastic skill to develop and this competition is excellent to help you improve and develop that skill. Participants will provide a precorded speech. Please note that the Ciara Meehan Trophy will be awarded to the best recorded speech in the local heat.

RCSI will hold an exciting virtual TY MiniMed programme this week. This event was open to all TY students in St Augustine’s College. Best wishes to Fearghal Slevin Maisie Breen Lily Gough Conn Willans Sean Callaghan who are participating in the event this week. All sections of the programme are carried out by leading professionals in their respective areas with a wide variety of topics – including general practice, heart surgery, pathology, paediatrics, forensic medicine, transplants, obstetrics and gynaecology being covered during the programme. Transition Year students from across the country participated in ‘Solicitors of the Future’ programme (online) during the midterm break. This was run by the Law Society of Ireland. Ronan Meleady represented our school at this event. He enjoyed interactive sessions with a host of legal experts! Transition year students were guided through mock courts and work shops. Well done Ronan.
