Dear 6th yr Parents, We have been made aware of the following Free Counselling available until March 31st which may be of interest -
MyMind has been supported via Sláintecare & the HSE to provide FREE counselling online and by phone to individuals aged 18 years+ until 31st March 2021.
The FREE counselling is available to individuals aged 18 years+ to whom any one of the criteria below applies:
· Presenting with COVID-19 related mental health issues (e.g. bereavement, social isolation/cocooning, illness, stress, depression, anxiety, addiction, domestic violence)
· A front-line worker in a medical setting (e.g. HSE staff, nursing home staff, paramedic, public health worker, GP)
· Employed with low income (see threshold in How Do I Apply section on MyMind.org )
· Unemployed due to COVID 19
· Bereaved resulting from COVID 19
· Over the age of 65
· Cocooning due to ill-health (regardless of age)

The Houses of the Oireachtas Transition Year work experience programme

There is an opportunity for any TY student interested in how the Houses of the Oireachtas operate.
There will be two intake cohorts: one commencing on Monday 8th March through English and another commencing Monday the 15th March through Irish. We propose to accept 20 students in each cohort. There will be a maximum of one student accepted from each school.

Closing date for applications is : February 4th 2021.
One student from Scoil Mhuire will be chosen to apply for the position using the same application.

The school Yearbook and Amber Flag Committees are running a series of photography and baking competitions over the next few weeks. Return to School Declaration

Dear Parent/Guardian of 5th Year students,
Please complete the Return to School Declaration Form before your child returns to school tomorrow 15th March.
You will find this form in the "Consent Form" tab in the menu of this App.
The completion of this form by parents/guardians on behalf of your child is mandatory in advance of them returning to the school building.
If the answer is "Yes" to any of the questions, your child must not return to school. You are advised to seek medical advice.
We are all asked to do what we can to reduce the risks associated with Covid19.
Your child will be asked to go home where they return to school without completing this declaration. You will be contacted first if this situation arises.

Kieran studied Law in UCC after his Leaving Certificate, qualifying in 2004. He then went on to Blackhall Place to train to be a solicitor, qualifying in Spring 2009.
He will give a first hand account of the diverse routes one can take with their legal background and how he got to his role of presenting The Hard Shoulder with Newstalk 106-108fm.

Dear 6th yr Students/Parents and Guardians,
The 20th Jan reduced fee ( €30) deadline for applying to CAO is fast approaching. If you have not already opened your CAO account, please open it now. It will cost €45 to apply between Jan 20-Feb 1.
IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR DARE OR HEAR - YOU MUST TICK THE BOX ON THE CAO APPLICATION BY FEB 1ST TO INDICATE YOU ARE APPLYING
(It is possible to apply for both HEAR and DARE if your circumstances meet the criteria.)
APPLYING FOR DARE - VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ -
As we do not know when we will return to school please note this date - Feb 12th -
One section of the DARE application is the SCHOOL IMPACT STATEMENT which must be filled out and STAMPED by the school, then POSTED by YOU.
To allow time to do this -
1.- PLEASE INFORM MS.MCGEE OR MS. TRAVERS BY E-MAIL IF YOU ARE APPLYING TO DARE BEFORE FRI. FEB 12TH
We will complete the School Impact Statement, stamp it and get it back to you in time for you to add it to the other documents for your application so you can post them off to arrive with DARE by March 15th. which at the moment is the closing date for all DARE documents. Application Forms for Transition Year 2021/2022 have been sent to all Third Year student's parents/guardians using "personal notifications" on this App.
Where absolutely necessary, an application form can be collected from the school Office between 9.30am & 1pm.
Please strictly adhere to the Covid19 protocol when visiting our school.
Christmas Jumper Day Fundraiser

We would like to say a huge thank you to all who contributed to our recent fundraiser.
There was a fantastic response and overall we raised the great sum of €3,715.
This amount will now be forwarded on to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
Our Christmas fundraiser 2020 is dedicated to the memory of Aisling Earley (Past Pupil)
