Dear Student,
We hope this finds you well.
Your experience of school will be different over the next few weeks. Take is as another or new learning opportunity. The skills you will develop during "Online Learning" will be beneficial to you as you progress through your educational journey, indeed they are now skills for life.
MS TEAMS:
All you require to know to get started on MS Teams is available using this link www.scoilmhuireclane.ie/pages/tutorials_students/teams/ or on the homepage of our school website "IT Support for Students". We appreciate the expertise of Mr McGowan and Mr Herring in organising these support videos.
Guidance;
Please see the images attached for some tips and guidance on how to achieve the best outcomes from "online learning. These two resources were created by ETBI - Education & Training Boards Ireland
Profile Pictures;
It is important that you only use a photograph of yourself for your profile picture. It is unacceptable to us that you would use the photograph of another person or an offensive image as your profile picture. If you wish not to use your own photograph, we would advise that you would not have a profile picture. It is important that the image is appropriate for school life. There is guidance on how you can change your profile picture in the "IT Support for Students" on our school website.
Your parent/guardians will be contacted where your profile picture is deemed in appropriate for a school setting, to request to have it removed.
Office 365 Passwords;
Students cannot change their school Office 365 Password themselves. Please do not attempt to do so as it will render your password invalid. Forgotten Password - Your parent/guardian must request a new password using the Parent Note facility on this App - this is the only facility to request a new password.
We wish you the very best of luck with "online learning". We are here to support you, do not hesitate to reach out to us!
Staff Meeting

We are having a Staff meeting at 10am on Monday next, March 8th. This meeting is necessary as the preparation for the alternative arrangements for Leaving Cert 2021 continue. As a result online classes at 10am will not operate nor will assignments be set for students - a very small minority of students will be informed directly by their teacher of any necessary alternative arrangements.
We encourage students to try to get out for a little exercise during this time.
All classes for students in our school building will be taught at this time.
All classes will resume at 11.25am.

Dear Parent/Guardian,
We hope this message finds you well.
Just following on from Mr Nolan's message yesterday. We will be operating our school online from Monday 11th until the end of January.
Please see the documents & images attached for more information on how this will work. Its not quite as daunting on this occasion but will still require a little time to adjust to this new norm. MS Teams can be accessed on Xbox and PlayStation.
We would ask you to support and help guide your student through this experience. We feel that it is very important that students keep to the structure of the school day. Some students, especially younger students may become overwhelmed by this new experience. We will be on hand to offer as much support as we can to help the transition
to online learning.
Best of luck, take care & keep safe!

Dear Parent/Guardian,
In preparation for online learning & teaching - Please check that your student(s) can access their school Office 365 account. In the event that they may require a new password please use this App to request the password.
The "Parent Note" facility is the only means of requesting a new password - we must restrict this communication to one means to enable us to coordinate the process - emails will not be responded to.
Please send any requests for passwords for my attention. Please allow upto 12 hours for the new password.
Students cannot change their own password, if they attempt to do so, their password will be rendered void.
Many thanks,
JP Cahillane
