Sustainability Week at Scoil Mhuire 2024
Created : 09 Sep 2024, 8:27 AM
Archived : 09 Nov 2024, 12:00 AM
Dear Parents/Guardians,
This week is Sustainability Week at Scoil Mhuire, and we are excited to focus on reinforcing positive habits around recycling and low-waste behaviours within our school community. Our Green Schools Committee has organised a series of activities throughout the week to help educate students and staff on sustainable practices, and we are hoping to have your support in this important campaign.
We would especially appreciate your help with two key initiatives this week:
  • Low-Waste Lunch Wednesday: We encourage students to bring in lunches that minimise waste, such as reusable containers, water bottles, and avoiding single-use plastics where possible.
  • Take-It-Home Thursday: Students will be encouraged to take their rubbish home to highlight just how much waste one student can generate each day. This will help raise awareness of the impact each of us has on our environment.
Your involvement can make a big difference in encouraging these behaviours at home as well. For more information and low-waste lunch ideas, you can visit the Green Schools website here: https://greenschoolsireland.org/back-to-green-schools/.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support in helping us promote a greener, more sustainable future for our students.

Leaving Cert Results

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

On behalf of the community of Scoil Mhuire I want to extend a big congratulations to all our Leaving Cert students of 2023-2024.

I am sure there was a mixture of anxiety and excitement in many households this morning prior to the issuing of the Leaving Cert results. The excellent results achieved by our students is a testament to their dedication and the hard work they put into their school work. The teachers who have worked with you and guided you every step of the way are extremely proud of what you have achieved.

Scoil Mhuire wishes you the best of luck in the next step of your journey.

Regards,

Mr. Martin

Class Lists

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Just a brief message to let you know that any information other that the school reports that you may view on Vs Ware up until Wednesday 28th / Thursday 29th August may not be accurate. Tutor lists and many classes progress from one year to the next automatically. However, all lists and classes have to be adjusted at the beginning of each year. This applies in particular to TY and 5th Year. We are currently working on updating all relevant information and wish to reiterate that lists etc. will not be finalised until Wednesday 28th August when all students are returning to school.

Apologies for any confusion, and please encourage your student to ignore what others may be saying in relation to various lists until they are finalised.

Kind regards,

JP Cahillane
