Amendment to school Admission Policy

Please find attached a notice regarding and amendment to the school's Admission Policy.  All schools are required to include two statements in their policy following the commencement of the Children with Special Educatonal Needs Act 2022.

Junior Cycle Examination Results 2022

Congratulations to all studentss who received their Junior Cycle Examination Results last Wednesda; they should all be very proud of their achievements.  Students will receive their Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement in due course which will record their CBA results , Others Areas of Learning and Examination Results.

If you and your daughter consider her result/s to be significantly at variance with previous performance as seen in examination reports available on VSware, please email your request to admin@holyfaithclontarf.com by 4.00pm on Tuesday, 29th November.  The email should have Junior Cycle Appeal in subject line and have the following information:

The State Examinations Commission advises the following:

APPLICATIONS FOR REVIEW OF RESULTS (APPEALS)

The following conditions apply to applications for a review of Junior Cycle results:

(i)                  The SEC does not accept appeal applications directly from candidates, parents or individual teachers.

(ii)                Applications will be accepted only from the School Authority. The Principal (or authorised representative), must consider that the examination result attained by the candidate is significantly at variance with the school’s considered judgement of the performance of the candidate concerned at the examination in question.

 

 

 

 

 

Maths Olympiad 2022

Congratulations to Liv Foley and Lily Sweeney the top scorers in the 36th Irish Mathematical Olympiad – Round 1. Liv and Lily are invited to attend  Mathematics Enrichment classes which are being offered at universities around the country. The Mathematics Enrichment classes help to identify and train talented students, with a view to selecting a team to represent Ireland in the next IMO in Chiba (Japan) in July 2023.

Congratulations to all the 2nd and 3rd years that took up rugby in September. After 8 weeks contact training they participated in a Leinster Rugby Schools blitz.

Concern Debates

Good luck to our Concern debaters who will face Alexandra College on Monday 21st November  over Zoom.  The debaters are Sophie Kilcullen, Sophie Faughnan, Eva Keyes and Ella Bracken.  They will propose the motion that “climate activists should not eat meat”.
