We as a parent’s council welcome all new members, we have a great number of parents helping in many different capacities. It’s not just about fundraising but supporting our school community, especially all the boy’s attending the school. If you would like to join the Parents Council and an amazing group of people, simply fill in your contact details on the school website www.naascbs.ie/about/parents-council/ It is so very important to have parents on the Council in respect of each year group (1st Year to 6th year). The Parents Council meetings are held once a month, usually on the first Monday from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. We restrict the time spent on monthly meetings, they are very informative and give an insight into the running of the school. Our Principal Ben Travers attends all meetings and it’s a great way to get to know other parents in our school community too. We run many events during the school year such as the school, Triathlon, 6th Year Study, Mock Interviews and Graduation. These are run through sub-committees so you can get involved in anything you are interested in. Our AGM will be happening shortly and we are looking for parents to join us and get involved in the school community. There is a volunteer form in the parents council section of the school website www.naascbs.ie/about/parents-council/ This can be filled in online and emailed back to cbspcnaas@gmail.com Many thanks, The Parent's Council

Ms. Brosnan's Biology class had perfect weather last Thursday for their visit to the Woodland Ecosystem in Lullymore. The students spent the morning surveying the flora and fauna in the woods. The outdoor seating area was an ideal classroom for final analysis and reporting in the afternoon. The lads even had the time for a round of mini-golf. It was a great educational experience, and a great day out. Thanks to the lads for exceptional effort and behaviour, and to Ms. Fennell for the extra support and photos.

It is late summer in the school garden and orchard and colour abounds. We have twenty apple trees and four pear trees as well as numerous fruit bushes, blackcurrant, raspberries and blueberries. Throughout the winter then spring and summer our TY students maintain the orchards and gardens learning vital skills and working together. The students are regularly weeding, sowing, planting, pruning, fertilising and providing all round general maintenance We will pick the apples soon and should have approx. 25 kilograms of apples and we give these free to the students. Soon we will be harvesting honey from our two beehives. Its a busy time in the school orchard and garden. It really is a Bio-diversity hub within the school. Thanks to Mr. Noone for his work in managing this beautiful resource on the school grounds. Thanks to Jamie Moore (4th Year) for the lovely photos.

A huge well done to 5th Year student Killian Burke who undertook a skydive during the summer to raise money for UNICEF. 'We are lucky to have all the basic resources we need to live a memorable life, but that is not the case for everyone. I want to help disadvantaged people to live a happy and healthy life. I have chosen UNICEF as my charity because UNICEF saves and protects the world's most vulnerable children, work to ensure child rights and provide health care, immunisations, nutrition, access to safe water and sanitation services, basic education, protection and emergency relief' - Killian Burke Please see a video of Killian's skydive linked below: youtu.be/FQ4IH10Anoc

It was great to welcome all of our TY students back to school over the past two days. Thank you to all for your cooperation and attention. All students have completed their induction training and will be in normal classes from 9.00 a.m tomorrow (Thursday 9th) It is important that students complete all work assigned in their Tutorials Google Classroom before tomorrow. Any student who has trouble accessing their school account or tutorials classroom is to contact me immediately through email sc@naascbs.ie Students timetables still have some blank periods. These classes will be assigned over the coming days. Students must keep an eye on the 'notice board' section of the app & their google classrooms for updates regarding this. It is vital that all students complete the following form (if not already done so) for their allocation to a language class. forms.gle/Q9UYdtNm7vQyocG38 This must be completed tonight as these classes will start from tomorrow.
