We are delighted to say that over the summer, 60 new bike racks were installed at the left side of the Woodwork Rooms. Each rack has a roof which keeps the bikes dry. As part of National Bike Week, the Green Schools Committee counted the number of bikes present on the school grounds. On average, we have 110 people cycling to school every day and we hope that these new bike racks will increase the number of students and teachers cycling. The Green Schools Committee Thanks to Jamie Moore (TY) for taking the photos.
School Drop-Off & Collection

Dear Parents & Guardians, Please be mindful when dropping off or collecting your son from school about the safety of everyone entering and leaving the school building in the morning and evening. We have almost 100 cars on the school grounds with staff alone so we cannot permit any parents to park in the school or at the school entrance when collecting or dropping off students. We also have a number of buses trying to operate drop-off's and collections, in addition to the number of students cycling in and out each day. With this in mind we would ask that parents please do not park too close to the front gate. It is a safety hazard each day and can put the students at unnecessary risk by obstructing their path and also the vision of drivers exiting the school. Your continued support and cooperation with this is much appreciated. Kind regards, The Management Team

Reminder: Class Materials/Schoolbags

A reminder to Parents, Guardians & Students that further to this notification (sent last week) regarding classroom materials, can attention please be drawn to the line regarding weighted bags 'if the schoolbag is still too heavy please default to leaving some materials at home'. Staff are storing (where possible) books in classrooms and e-books are being used too but no student should be carrying a heavy schoolbag especially while moving from class to class each day. Please ensure that your son's bag is a comfortable weight before he leaves in the morning. We will continue to work on this area until lockers can hopefully be reinstated (pending HSE guidelines in October). Please see attached the required materials for class document. Many thanks for your continued support, The Management Team Dear Parents, Guardians & Students, In regards to classroom materials and schoolbags, we appreciate how challenging it can be for students to manage at the moment without lockers and to move from class to class. We are very grateful to our students for their co-operation and support at the moment. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our teachers that have taken on the task of storing books in classrooms, using e-books where possible, uploading materials to google classroom and ensuring that the classroom itself is a safe environment for everyone to learn. Please see attached a PDF which outlines materials required for each subject for our 1st, 2nd & 3rd Years. Where possible staff are storing materials in class and using e-books. We ask that you please work with your son to ensure he is only packing necessary materials and if his schoolbag is still too heavy please default to leaving some materials at home. We will continue to monitor this going forward and appreciate your support. Many thanks, The Management Team

Reusable Face Masks

Dear Parents, Guardians & Students, We would like to take the opportunity to commend students for their excellent wearing of face masks in school. Students have been very compliant with the health and safety procedures and in doing so have continued to make the school building a safer place for everyone to learn. Can we please remind parents and guardians that a reusable face mask is advised for every student as they tend to not break as easily as the disposable masks. We would also recommend that every student keeps a spare mask with them at all times. Many thanks, The Management Team
