Colette Forde, creator of Teen-Speak, visited Mount Carmel library this week. Colette is a passionate youth advocate,actor and drama facilitator. She has been featured on RTE and performed her play "innit" in the SoHo Playhouse Theatre Off-Broadway in New York. She performed her one woman show for us and delivered a fantastic workshop about mental health to all our Transition Year students.

Today is the first day of Catholic Schools Week where our school community is invited to take part in a week of celebrations. The theme this year is ‘Catholic Schools: Living Life to the Full’. We will have announcements over the intercom and a competition for Grandparents day where Students will get to write a letter to their grandparent and win them a prise.

Congratulations to 9 students who were voted for their endeavours over and above school life: Leinster soccer, work with the homeless, Climate Justice, Maintaining local church, Green Schools, Mini Company, Contributes holistically and maturely. Thank you to Ms McGowan for organising the awards and certificates.

TY TUD Quiz Challenge 2022

A big thanks to Ian Roller and Riona Fitzgerald for organising the TUD online inter-schools Quiz challenge. Students had loads of fun doing it, with questions over a broad range of topics, relevant for their age group. Well done to student Nicola Walker (team 'FunnyDog') for winning overall 3rd prize.
Mount Carmel 'Make a Wish' Fundraiser

It was a whole school effort in Mount Carmel, where staff and students collected €747.60 before Christmas, for 'Make A Wish'. They did so through a Christmas jumper day, staff and student Christmas raffles and hot chocolate sales for the Christmas movie.
Youth Group/Drama Project

A Youth Group will run on Thursdays from 27th Jan from 5:15pm - 6:30pm, in conjunction with Ozanam House Resource Centre, and is available to Mount Carmel students. There will also be a 6 week drama project, run in conjunction with the Gaiety, suitable for 1st years. Any Mount Carmel students interested please speak to Mr Dermody.
